Bedding for pram

Have just bought a bugaboo cameleon but just occurred to me that I don't know what bedding to put in the carry cot? Either at home or when when we are out and about.
Does anyone know if you get special fitted sheets to fit over the mattress?
Or what do you do with the cameleon/similar prams?
Baby due in April so not too worried about him getting terribly cold but will need something.
Do they need any kind of pillow?!
I know these are prob very stupid questions but I'm a first timer so humour me!
Thanks!

Hi dolly1, they sell pram sheets and blankets etc in most places, they also fit moses baskets as the mattresses are roughly the same size. I am sure these would be fine for your bugaboo, they don't look like they would need specially fitted ones or anything - if they did I am sure they would be advertising them! Babies don't need pillows either - probably a health risk in fact as it might put them at risk of suffocation etc. Hope this helps!

ive just got my bug and was wondering the same thing about the sheets, might get some fitted ones to stop the matteress from getting ruined. also do you need a different matteress if your using it over night or does the one it comes with do?

hey spugs- we always recomend having a spare mattress if you are using your pram carrycot for overnight sleeping- purely because the pram goes out into town, flung in car, is around pollution in cities etc- if you get a second mattress you can have a home one that you know has not been crapped on by a seagull (i live by the coast- so seagull crap is a major problem ) check ouyt ebay etc- new mattress should be less than 15 quid. hth

if you want to save money on sheets just use a cot sheet folded over - very new babies don't wriggle much so not alot of need for the fitted sheets - I wasted money last time buying fitted crib and pram sheets and won't be doing it again this time!

make sure you have several changes of sheets because if they have a puking/poo up the back epic you won't have time to put the first sheet through the wash before they have ruined the second!

Moses basket sheets fit bugaboos.

Thanks so much for all the tips and glad to know I'm not the only one who was wondering about about this.
Think I'll get a few moses baskets fitted sheets. Just cause I hate loose sheets on my own bed so maybe my baby will take after me!
Also seen some lovely cheapish white blankets in M&S so think I'll get one of them too.

Hi Dolly

They also sell pram blankets (which co-incidentally also are for use in moses baskets too) and also pram/moses size flat sheets - I've bought fitted sheets, flat sheets and these blankets to use in both moses basket (before LO goes into gro-bags) and also in pram. Got my sheets and blankets from babies r us, but mothercare, lots of other places sell them too.

Be warned - there are even different types of sheets - cotton, jersey cotton, terry towling, flanelette - it's a minefield out there
