Hi all

I recently had my 12 week scan but was only 11+4 when I had the scan, I was informed by my community midwife that I would probably need another scan at 13 weeks but once I had my scan they said that wasn't necessary.

Since then I have had painful cramps for around a week. The community midwife said unless there was blood not to be concerned (fortunately there hasn't been). To put my mind at ease I have booked a private scan to check in our baby. Am i being silly doing this, I am an extremely anxious person and I have flagged this with my midwife.

Sound like a sensible idea.
Just make sure you use a reputable clinic with trained sonographers.

I don't think you are being silly, no. I would feel the same in your position. Just be cautious you dont start needing a scan a week to feel calm! I am planning to do 12 weeks, 16 weeks and 20 weeks (the two NHS and one private)
