Brown spotting at 6/7 weeks

Hi all,

I'm roughly 6 and a half weeks. For the past 5 days (on and off) I've had this browny CM, it's never got even a hint of red just brown. It's also painless and not getting any worse, just there when I wipe occasionally (more obvious in the morning when I wake up). I'm still getting all my pregnancy symtoms and strong positives on tests.
I spoke to my GP and EPU who weren't worried as it's 'old blood' and I'm not in any pain but did give me their number if its to get worse or to carry on for weeks.

I just cant shake this feeling of worry. I was going to get a scan soon as possible but as I already have a private scan booked for roughly 2 weeks time at 8+ weeks so my DH wants to wait due to cost.

Any experiences or advice most welcome. Thanks.

I had bright red blood at 11 weeks with DS. They never found out why and thankfully all fine.

26+4 with twins now and had brown/pink when I wiped at 8 weeks. Went for a private scan and again they didn't know why.

Sometimes it can be simple things like irritation of the cervix or simply just old blood.

Good luck x

Painless and brown sounds like implantation bleeding to me, really normal and not usually a cause for concern. Lots is moving around in there and being dislodged as baby settles in.

20/25% of women have some sort of bleeding in pregnancy and even heavy red bleeding can happen without there being a problem. I know it’s hard not to worry and you will anyway, but from what you describe it sounds like things will be fine.

I had spotting at 6 weeks, now have a gorgeous 7mo Smile from what I gather, it's quite a common time to have some implantation bleeding. I know how worrying it is though!

Thank you so much for your reassurances.

I went for a private scan today and all was well! Saw a heartbeat and measured ahead by 4 days! :)
