Late positive pregnancy test 20 days late

Hi all, I'm 20 days late on my period, 56 days since last period and still getting negative tests, my first response tests have a faint line but not sure if it's just an evap, I would love to know if anyone else has tested positive this late, thank you 😊 💗

I tested 11 days late so not quite 20 but still a lot. It might be worth contacting your GP just incase anything else needs following up. Wishing you all the best!

Thanks for the reply ☺️ I'm going to wait until my second period would be due and if it's not here I will definitely be going to the gp, I've taken a clear blue tonight and got a thin blue 2nd line after 10 minutes but I'm not satisfied because I've read so many stories of evap lines and colour running, I'll post a couple of pictures x

There is something called the Hook effect where a pregnancy test will come back negative even though you are pregnant. You could try diluting the urine and testing again to see if it comes back as a stronger positive.

But if not, I'd book a GP appointment and get them to do a blood test at least to see what your hCG is. Hope it works out for you x

Thank you, yes I've heard of that and I did try it a few days ago but i probably did it wrong, I literally just put some water in before peeing (I've even tried the salt method which was a first thats how impatient I am lol) , I've got 3 children already, my youngest is 9 so it's been a while remembering what if feels like in early pregnancy. I've got heartburn everyday which I never get, boobs seem bigger but not sore, and my tummy is definitely bloated where i feel about 5 months pregnant lol, no cramp but definitely twinges and stabbing pains in lower pelvis but i dont feel like a period is due, i always know when thats coming as I get every before period symptom under the sun 👿 . I'm going to wait until my next period is due, probably sometime early October as my last was early August and if it's not here I think a blood test will be needed. Other then that it's strange, I've always had periods every month. Thanks you for your reply 😊 x

Do you mind me asking what the result was? I’ve got a similar issue - currently 13 days late but tested on day 7 and 9 with negative results? Leading up to it I’d been using ovulation tests and had the peak days flashing face so was genuinely hopeful it had worked. Booked to see a nurse today to find out what the matter is 😬
