Had this when I got up this morning after wiping, had a slightly little more since but nothing major. Had intense lightening crotch last night too.

With my ds my plug came away as a big blob and was brown. I've been losing bits of plug for weeks now but yellow / clear this is the first time blood has been in it

Just a quick question, which the answer of may help (more?) people answer, but where are you at? Full term? Early?

Whatwaswrongwiththatusername · 26/09/2022 16:21

Also, if you're absolutely sure you've been losing bits of the plug for weeks (and again may depend on how far you are), I would be inclined to get checked out. I had a severe womb infection before/during/after birth and possibly caused by losing the plug a day or two before contractions started, and then a very slow/long labour which did require intervention in the end and a poorly baby (although full term), plus then became rather unwell myself which meant a few days in hospital after the birth and emergency re admittance two days finally being allowed to go home (and in retrospect I should've stayed but just couldn't cope with even one more night there, despite still being unwell and having to promise to bring us both back to the hospital to be checked on the following day if they allowed me to eventually leave.

Sorry if this comes across as 'fearmongering', it isn't meant to, but just to show that it is possible if you're losing your plug and have recently - last night - felt a tightening/pain? In your crotch and now there's blood, I would get yourself checked out.

@Whatwaswrongwiththatusername thanks for the reply and sorry you went through that it sounds awful !

I'm 38 weeks today, so full term. I have been having frequent Braxton hicks the last couple of weeks too but the last I'd say 3 days they have ramped up, no pattern though still random. I've lost some more pink discharge throughout the day but not loads. Do you really think I should be checked ? I thought it was normal part of late pregnancy

I’ve read that blood is a sign of your cervix dilating so it could be!! If you keep getting more id say it’s definitely your show. How exciting!! Keep us updated

showorno · 26/09/2022 22:37

Thanks @Razzl I've had literally two drops tonight that's it

Last night I tried hand expressing colostrum and didn't get anything but baby went mad for abit after and the same happened tonight... also had some tightening afterwards so not sure if it's that that's caused it ?
My consultant said harvesting colostrum doesn't induce labour it will be because you were ready to go in the first place, that it's basically a coincendence

So I've had much more this morning so think it's got to be my show. Still not gelatinous but more mixed with mucus/discharge. Still no pains or anything though, ahhh so hard this watching and waiting !

Sounds like it’s your show! I think it means labour is pretty imminent if there’s blood so keeping my fingers crossed for you! I’m a similar gestation (38+3) so really rooting for you!

i think I had a single contraction last night, but might have just been a really intense braxton hicks. I’ve also been losing bits of my plug for a couple of weeks now but no blood so far

showorno · 27/09/2022 15:10

So I'm not the only one sending myself barmy then @Razzl Blush

So strange because I can't remember what an early contraction feels like, I had my ds 8 years ago now but I do remember waking up with period pain in my lower back and it just got worse and worse !

I did have some mild back pain this morning but seems it's gone away now. I also went on a big walk earlier to try and help things along

I’m sending myself absolutely crazy looking for labour signs. My braxton hicks are ramping up, possible single contraction last night, lost bits of my plug over a few weeks but had absolutely nothing today (does that mean it’s all gone??), I’ve lost 2kg which I’ve googled and that’s also a sign labour is near, I’ve been nesting, had diarrhoea yesterday which apparently is another sign (tmi sorry 😂). When googling these things can mean labour is happening in 24-48 hours, or it could just be a symptom of late pregnancy 😫 I think a bloody show is much more promising!

showorno · 27/09/2022 20:49

@Razzl that's a lot of postive signs though, and not all women have a show do they ?
It's so tough at this stage isn't it, the last few weeks feel like years because it's not far away but is if that makes sense ?? 😆
I've managed to do a 'blind shave' tonight how I haven't cut myself I don't know ! Can't actually see the end result though so probably look like I've been shaved by a toddler lol

😂😂😂 that’s hilarious. I’ve only been able to shave around the outsides. God knows what it looks like down there now 🙈
