Ladies looking to hear your remedies for what helped with morning sickness!

I know it's unfortunately unavoidable and can't be stopped, but if you tried anything that really helped let's share - currently suffering!

PSS has useful info
None of the old wives tales worked for me!

2anddonefornow · 26/09/2022 11:30

Ginger did NOT work for me in any format, the only thing to slightly help was near constant nibbling of rich tea biscuits. Also ice, lots of ice.

Bananabreakfast123 · 26/09/2022 11:37

Eating little and often but ultimately had to get a prescription from the GP who was really understanding. Hasn't taken the nausea away completely but it's definitely less severe.

Black tea and Farley's rusks first thing in the morning

MrsU2022 · 26/09/2022 11:58

Lemonade or marmite works for me at the moment 😂

NeedToKnow101 · 26/09/2022 11:59

Eating a ginger biscuit (or probably any biscuit) before I got out of bed in the morning. So kept by bedside.

Becca071996 · 26/09/2022 13:29

Thank you all!

Weirdly lemonade and marmite are also what I've been leaning towards lately!

I'll get my boyfriend to get me some biscuits on the way home today!

Sipping a freezing cold Diet Coke all day

violetcuriosity · 26/09/2022 18:46

I stopped eating meat and fish which helped.
Cheese scones, ice lollies, olives

MariaDingbat · 27/09/2022 07:46

Sharp lemon and lime m&s cordial helped but mostly time unfortunately. It eased for me up at week 14 and was gone by 16. It's utterly miserable so you have my sympathy.

Teaandcrumpets95 · 27/09/2022 07:49

Eating a cracker before I even sat up in bed in morning.
Very strong orange squash.
Ice cold full sugar Pepsi.

HoHoHowMuch · 27/09/2022 07:52

Agree with pp who said get a prescription from your doctor if needed. Do make sure you are eating, being hungry made mine worse. Bland food tastes less bad when throwing it up again than strong flavours.

Lovetogarden2022 · 27/09/2022 08:56

The most important thing is to get as many fluids in as possible. It's really tough! I was having sports drinks and very weak squash. I had dreadful acid reflux, so nothing too rich or fizzy or acidic. It doesn't really matter what you're eating, as long as you're eating something! Plain breaded chicken with smiley faces and broccoli was a staple dinner - basically anything carby.

It's absolutely dreadful so you have my sympathies and it does get better ❤️

Cyclizine!

Nothing helped me except medication. I wish I had got it sooner.

Becca071996 · 27/09/2022 13:13

Thank you all!

While I have you here- did you find you were sick every day? Or some days just felt sick with no actual sickness?

OP posts:
AnnBt · 27/09/2022 13:30

I only got sick a couple of times during first trimester but I was nauseous ALL THE TIME. I wished I could just throw up and get it over with but nope.

I ended up blending ginger with some frozen berries (+ yogurt if you can handle a tiny bit of dairy) and putting them in popsicle tray to freeze. I chewed on them for a while - essentially glorified ice cubes..didn't make the nausea go away but that was the only thing I could put in my mouth without wanting to turn my organs inside out.

Feel for you, don't wish this upon anyone

crumpetswithjam · 27/09/2022 13:39

Ice lollies. Fruit Pastille ones were my fav. But any fruity ones.

I had HG and also took sickness meds 3x a day on bad days.

Doodledeedum · 27/09/2022 13:42

Salty crackers or watery fruit and veggies in small amounts like cucumber/celery and melon
The first four months were horrendous for me . How much baby grew whilst I lived off of these things I don't know
On the odd day I didn't feeL sick I ate like a gannet, everything I could to make up for the days I couldn't!

Crazylicious · 27/09/2022 20:50

Omg this is exactly me right now! Lol
