Bleeding in early pregnancy

Hello mummies and mummies to be!

I am currently 6weeks+1 day and have started having some spotting but only when I wipe after going to the toilet.

It started off as brown then went to bright red and is now back to pinkish/brown... as you can imagine I'm thinking the worst.
Has anyone else had this and gone on to have a healthy baby x

So sorry you are going through this. If a hopeful story is helpful, I had the same and my baby arrived safe and well at term and is a healthy 8 year old now.

There are various possible reasons for spotting or small bleeds in early pregnancy (mine was a sub-chorionic haematoma) and it doesn't always mean the worst although of course is always frightening. Distraction and taking things easy are your friends right now. An early scan can give information and may or may not be something you want to do (I had one at 6+5 which was already booked in at the IVF clinic). Though good scan news does only reassure in the moment, if the spotting and bleeding is continuing.

Thank you for letting me know this ! It does put my mind at ease that other people have had some bleeding during early pregnancy.

I have a scan at the early pregnancy unit on Tuesday so it's just trying not to worry until then!x

I had something similar at 6 weeks 5 days wiped brown then bright red and then tiny pink wipes. Only lasted a day or 2 and no pain whatsoever. Of course it terrified me but have a healthy 10 month old son now so it was prob a sub chorionic hematoma.

I started heavy bleeding Saturday at 10 weeks pregnant, blood was bright red then the same Sunday and then Monday was just brown when wiping also cramps. Went for a scan at EPU today and to my surprise baby was there wiggling around with a strong heartbeat ❤️
