It's my 2nd pregnancy and i'm already feeling big & it's showing. Tried on maternity trousers earlier, even though they had to be put on the tightest fitting, they still fitted and felt comfy. My mum thinks i'm having twins

Having scan on monday.

LOL - I gained 10 inches in 36 hours over the weekend so I know exactly what you mean (I'm only 13 weeks too!) I'm going to hope some of it is bowel distention and that it'll erm blow away over time (or at least I won't continue growing at this speed! The irony is, I'm not getting any bigger anywhere else, I just look like 'comedy pregnant lady with unfeasibly large bump'

I think with second pregnancies you do show quicker. Mind you I've felt movement already so I guess everything is a tad quicker second time round.

Well I had one at nine weeks and one at five - had some bleeding early on but won't have another one till 20 weeks.

Looking forward to seeing this LO though - just looked like a jellybean last time.

bigboydiditandranaway · 24/01/2008 20:13

was it just the one jellybean?
really looking forward to my scan, but a bit apprehensive too as you hear of some stories don't you.

Apparently. However it was a viability scan, they just pass really quickly over say 'look there's your baby, here's is a heartbeat' and then turn it off - that's the EPU for you - as long as you aren't dying and the baby isn't dying they just try and see as many folks as poss. Understandable. But I'll be bloody cross if it is two!

Have you not had any scan at all yet? I'm not so apprehensive. Was in my last pregnancy but this time I figure it'll be okay, or it won't and me worrying isn't going to make a blind bit of difference (see Denial isn't just a river in Egypt lalalal!)

Scan not till next week!! I wouldn't worry about twins, i'm sure they would of picked it up if there were. I don't know how i'd cope if there were more than one, but theres not a lot you can do is there i suppose, there's just more to loveand more nappies, more colic, more getting up in the night, oh yikes i hope i don't have more than one!!

I needed maternity wear around 12 weeks. Now in week 34 nothing really fits, and it is only one little boy. (well, not so little) Good luck!!!

bigboydiditandranaway · 26/01/2008 18:41

Thank you gingercat, good luck to you too

I had to move to next size up around 8 weeks

am 17 weeks now and really obviously pg - my whole stomach sticks out. I think our muscles are shot

expatinscotland · 26/01/2008 18:51

i felt podgy big at that stage with DD2.

still not big enough for maternity clothes, but wearing a bunch of trousers i picked up cheap in a charity shop in size 16 because my middle was thick.
