Hi all,

I’m due in January and trying to get everything sorted for their big arrival!

I’d be really interested in peoples baby carrier/sling recommendations? I love the idea of carrying them close to me and so I can move around and get some housework done. From the ones I’ve seen they seem pretty complicated to tie correctly and I’m really nervous about the knot coming undone and the baby falling out! 🙁

Thanks all x

Do you have a local sling library and/or carrying consultant? It's worth going to see someone who knows what they are talking about and you can try things out. You can either go whilst still pregnant or with baby or both

Sling libraries are fab

I really recommend the close caboo - I think it has all the comfort of a stretchy wrap but is much quicker and easier to tie

I have 2 carriers, a sling/wrap one and a more structured carrier.

I have the Ama Wrap (lots of videos on how to tie it and also in the booklet it comes with), it did take a few goes to get it tight enough.
We then have the Tula Explore which is great aswell and lasts really long.

I didn't bother trying a sling library and just did a lot of research of reviews online and made my decisions that way, definitely don't regret either purchase.

Agree re sling library.

I have a kahu baby sling which I love, its comfy and clips together so no awkward ties to do.

Another vote for a sling library. Personally I liked the mamaruga zensling.

I would also advise finding somewhere to trial a few, not just for your benefit but also for your baby's.
We hated the stretchy fabric wraps, they were far too clingy and hot. This was in summer, however. Our little one also protested being in one of those, still does actually (tried again recently)!

Our midwife practice has a ton of different wraps and she suggested a few based on our requirements - easy to put on and adjust, fits both of us, little one likes it, not too clingy. So I guess in the UK a sling library would be useful.

We went for the Marsupi Classic and then also got the Marsupi Breeze. Love them both

Brilliant thank you. I’ve just looked up my local sling library. Seems like the best way to try some out! Thanks all.
