Sorry for the massive TMI in this post but if you’re reading this you know what you’re letting yourself in for from the title.

So I’m 38 weeks today and I was in the sofa enjoying my morning coffee as I do every morning and I felt the urge to go. I thought I’d just finish up the game I was playing on my phone and then go, but before I knew it I was pooing myself. For the first time in my adult life. I am mortified.

Please tell me that this is a sign that labour is coming? And that I’m not just simply incontinent now 😩

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It will be all the pressure and weight of the baby.

Ah the joys of pregnancy! You will be fine once baby is here 😁

Filleto · 24/09/2022 09:17

It might just be the weight of the baby or you could be about to go into labour. Keep us posted!

If it makes you feel any better, after I had my second I was on my way up the stairs to the loo and a poo squeezed itself out. I was horrified. I have regained control of my bowels since then.

You could be in labour OP! I went to the loo about 5 times when i first went into labour, body clearing out before the big event! Good luck and don't panic!

I wish my body had cleared itself out before labour.....instead of during the active labour phase.

Poor midwife 😂

This happened to me. I literally just sat up in bed and it came out. I was mortified and thought this must mean something. I think I went into labour about a week later.

Feeellostindirection · 24/09/2022 09:31

I had an overwhelming urge to have several poos before I went into labour with ds, so it could be the beginning of labour. If not it will just be the pressure of the baby.

Razzl · 24/09/2022 12:45

It makes me feel so much better that this has happened to other people 🙈😂 sounds like it could probably have been the pressure of baby because I haven’t had any other labour signs apart from a couple of strong braxton hicks. I hope this doesn’t happen again!

@Batbatbatty oh god you poor thing, I was worried about that happening...until the huge clear out! 😂 But talking to friends I think it's more common what happened to you than me so the midwives are used to it and doubt they gave it a second thought.

Pumpkinpatchlookinggood · 24/09/2022 18:40

Ah shit happens op!!
😀

Autumn2022 · 24/09/2022 19:42

I didn’t stop pooing during my first pregnancy - but he didn’t come early!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/09/2022 19:45

Prepare for it to happen after the birth too. Things go a little odd afterwards 😀

jimmyeatworld · 24/09/2022 19:45

Don't worry op it's to be expected now I guess, I blew my nose this morning and pissed myself !

Same 😫

@Razzl I couldn't read and run because this really did make me chuckle 😄 it bought me straight back to when I was in slow labour with my little boy. I pooed myself walking to the toilet 🙈 and then spent the whole day pooing...I kid you not sorry for TMI but I went about 10 times and was like how the hell is that much stashed up in there?! Low and behold a few days later I had him but it was so bizarre! Hope you are okay and not long now for little ones arrival - if they haven't already arrived! Wishing you lots of luck! X

Razzl · 27/09/2022 22:15

😂😂😂 @Bluemeadowbaby I’m so glad I’m not alone. It hasn’t happened again since and I’m still pregnant but hopefully for not much longer! I’m still hoping it was a sign that things are getting ready rather than just being incontinent 🙈😂
