28 weeks and had a slight blood loss

hello everyone well i had abit of a p-ain on wednesday in my right side , which took my breath, then on thursday had my mw appot evry thing was fine but later on bout 6ish saw this dry blood in nicks and throu tracky bottoms so after um an r--ing for an hour phoned hospital they got me in did monitering and things baby was fine they kept me in for obs they think that i had had the pain cause my placenta may have a slight abruption which caused me too bleed , and the blood came 24 hours later, they advised me too take it easy ,an take time off work i am 39 yrs and work as a school cook were i am on my feet all day well 4 1/2 hrs and work alone so i am on sick i only have 3weeks left but cos school hols start 17th dec i would have 2 weeks off then when we go back on 4th jan i would start maternity leave but they asked if i want too start now , but i dont iam on the sick at moment from today feel in a dilema cause i av been advised too take rest but feel i want too go to work advice please x

Hi, are you saying you want to be at work cos you'd be bored at home, or is it because you think they will force you to start maternity leave ?
If it's the latter, I don't think they can make you start your maternity leave because of sickness until you're 34weeks (sorry, not familiar with current law but that's what it was 5 years ago when I had DS1).
If it's the former, then, sorry, my advice is stay at home, and catch up on any books you've been waiting to read!

I'd stay at home and chill for now, as advised, but as per nicmum2boys, work can't make you take early maternity until 34 weeks, so you could go back say next week if you feel better and no further probs? (if you think you gona be bored may I suggest spending all day on here!!)

it is now 36 weeks until work can force your metrnity to begin
