Can colds make HG worse?

Hiya mums. I've had HG since week 6. It eased off at week 16 (same with my first pregnancy) but I've had a cold this week and it's all kicked off again. Am 19 weeks now.

The vomiting has always worried my husband, especially because I've needed a drip a couple of times this pregnancy. Has anyone found illnesses making nausea/vomiting worse?

I feel awful mentally and physically. I thought I'd got through this and could return to being a full mummy, wife, friend and colleague but it's kicked my butt.

I don't have a cold but I had a break from my HG 16-18 weeks and then it came back from 18-22 weeks. Think it was a switch in hormones or something but I was devastated. Hope you Improve again really soon!!

I've had hyperemesis every damn pregnancy. (Now pg #6 for baby #4). I found that anything at all can affect it.
Being ill certainly won't help. ☹️ ice lollies have soothed my throat and kept me some form of hydrated in previous pregnancies. I'm also 8 weeks now and well in the throes of HG.
So you definitely have my sympathies.
