When did you do your bloods and receive your pre medications? My midwife said she didn’t know (it’s all changed during transition out of covid) and my caesarean is booked in two weeks! Starting to wonder whether I need to ring someone?

my midwife chased this for me

i came in about 4 days before to do consent form, talk through the procedure with a doctor, then back to general day assessment to wait for bloods

I had a c section on a Friday and I had a pre op on the Wednesday where they gave me my medications and did my bloods :) good luck! X

The day before :)

Travellingraspberry · 22/09/2022 21:07

Day before for me!

Bubbles021 · 23/09/2022 12:52

4 days before I had a chat with the anaesthetist, 3 days before I had my bloods done 😊

A week before but then DS came early so it ended up being the day before!

I have mine booked for 2 weeks time, consent is done and I was told I would be given a call a few days beforehand to confirm times etc so if I'm being invited in for bloods, I'm assuming they will tell me when they call.

Maybe call the hospital you are having your delivery at if your midwife can't help? Though I would say she should be doing that for you, mine was able to see all the details of my booking on the system before the date had even been shared with me/I'd seen the consultant to do consent.

My bloods etc are booked in for two days before. I did get the appointment for the pre op and op pretty simultaneously.

ASCB31 · 23/09/2022 13:22

My preop was a couple of days before my section (during Feb lockdown last year)

Was meant to be 2 days before but went into labour early that morning instead.
