High resting heart rate

Currently 35 weeks and been in hospital a few times over the past couple of months. Everytime I go in they always comment on my heart rate (blood pressure is fine). My resting heart rate tends to be 130bpm! I know hate rate increases generally in pregnancy due to having to push more blood around but I’m a bit concerned that it’s just being commented on.

has anyone else has experience of high bpm and was everything okay? Able to have normal delivery etc?

Sorry I forgot to mention, hospital offered me ECG and it was fine and my iron levels are fine too. They did say if it continues they might need to refer me to a cardiologist. It’s made me really worried!

I wouldn't worry too much mine has always been way to fast and they always comment on mine whenever I go to the hospital. Some people just have fast heart rates so try not to worry I'm sure all is fine. Has it always been fast or just since you've got pregnant?

@ttc2603 its only been in this pregnancy and recently. So it might be a third trimester thing

only thing that has me worried is midwife commented that if heart rate goes too high during labour (which is will increase) it might mean change in my birth plan!

Have you had your baby yet?

Mines always been fast (even before pregnancy) so maybe that's why they're not concerned about mine. I have no advice as it's my first baby and still currently pregnant. If you have concerns just keep in touch with your midwife and just get them to keep checking. How do you feel do you feel weird or do you feel normal?

Pregnancy puts more pressure on your heart as there is a lot more blood to pump around so a little increase it's normal. It can also be high if you are anaemic, dehydrated, anxious, high bmi, or have a pre existing heart issue. But a 130bpm resting heart rate is high and not healthy if it consistently stays at that rate and should be investigated. Also if you are young, slim and healthy it would potentially not be so much of a problem so it depends.
Do you get anxious when going into hospital? Can you check your resting heart rate at home? Also make sure you drink plenty of water but I would accept the offer to be referred, no harm in making sure all is fine! Xx
