Hi,

I just had scan and it shows instead of 1.75kg my baby is 2.08kg in 32 weeks of pregnancy. I have tested Glucose test also, it shows normal. Will there will be any complications in pregnancy if I have a big baby? I am literally worried.

Hi op I had a big baby 9lb 11 oz did not have GD but family history of big babies. He came out very fast and gave me a 3rd degree tear. If you're frightened talk to your midwife maybe ask to be snipped rather than tear. DS came out to fast in my case to snip. im now fully healed with a very chunky 4 month old. Congratulations.

Scans can get quite inaccurate regarding weight. For example, one of my DC was predicted to be 5lb at term, and she was 7lbs 8oz (a week late).

My son was 9lbs 5oz (two weeks late) and I didn’t have any complications during birth. He was very, very tall and skinny.

My scans and measurements always showed my baby on 97th centile but he was only 7lb 8 when he was born! I was so worried about it that I had a planned c section as I was worried about giving birth to a massive baby 😂

my baby was 10lb 5ozs very quick labour well easier than my 8lb 4 ozs baby! but if you are scared defo speak to your midwife

My little girl (6 weeks old now), started measuring big around 30 weeks. I had the GD test which came back that I did have it. She kept getting bigger, then stayed roughly on the 95th percentile. We were told to expect a baby way over 9lb, when she was born she was 8lb 6oz. She then dropped quite a lot of weight after birth (due to feeding issues) and is only now 9lb 13oz but bang on the 50th percentile and the health visitor is really happy with her weight 😊
