How do you know when baby has dropped ?

I'm 37+2 and have always carried this baby low so can't really tell from looking at my bump! The last couple of weeks I've been getting more of these so called fanny daggers 😆 last night it was so so sore ! Constant electric shock/nerve type pains whenever baby moved.
I feel more achey around my pubic bone and under my bump but don't know if these things means she's starting to engage ?

It felt really low. Right down in the pelvis. Keep moving. Help everything get in place.

This is my 2nd baby. I’ve been getting ‘lightening crotch’ for the past week. I’m carrying really low too. I’m only 30+6 so worried baby may come early if I’m having these electric pains already. Is this likely or can you have this pain for weeks and weeks?

I'm 36+2 with no.2 and have been getting period like pains for the past couple of days (defo not contractions) so I'm thinking that the head must be engaging. It wasn't engaged last week when the midwife checked but next appointment is not till Monday. Last time once the head was engaged I could barely hold a drop of wee and was constantly on the toilet, also had a little bit of incontinence which in retrospect could have been a slow water break but within days of that I was a mum.

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure if she has dropped or not because when I've looked up all the signs of it I have them all anyways lol

For me it went like I was walking with a bowling ball between my legs.

Currently 40 weeks & my baby still hasn’t engaged 😞 I was carrying really low all my pregnancy & was told at my 32 appointment she was really close to engagement already then who knows what happened and she moved up ! So frustrating.

I haven't got a bowling ball feeling I don't think. I've been waddling for weeks now so can't say that's an indication either ! I'm getting a lot of bh though especially when I need a wee and when walking around

I didn't know! Was adamant she was still transverse then went for an antenatal appointment last week and they said she's head down 1/5 engaged. I feel no different!
