I am going completely out of my mind, I've never had a pregnancy make it past 8 weeks before so I honestly don't k ow what's normal or not, I've had the mild breast tenderness and heartburn but no other symptom, and my stomach just feels normal, no tightening no bloat and it hasn't gone hard, it's just squishy, is this normal at this stage of the pregnancy ?
Haven't gained any weight what so ever !

I'm 14 weeks and I have no sign of a bump either so I wouldn't be worried x

Has your stomach bloated or gone even the slightest bit bigger ?

I had bloating around 9 weeks but it disappeared, I went to get my bloods done at 14 and a half weeks and remember not looking remotely pregnant. No bump, no bloating, normal clothes... I'm now 18 and a half weeks and huge! I'm sure you'll be fine but you can always get a reassurance scan if 8 weeks is your milestone? I had one at 9 weeks and it was enough reassurance to get me through to my 14 week scan.

I was obsessed with this, it consumed my every thought at the beginning. My stomach never went hard. My daughter is now 2.

I needed a LOT of support for my anxiety throughout pregnancy, please do reach out to your midwife if you think you might need some help x

I have a scan next week, I should be 9 weeks by then, this is my 4th pregnancy and I've never made it past 8 weeks on the others, i honestly can't stop worrying, my mother even bought me a Doppler hoping it would ease my anxiety a bit and it's made me worse because I can't hear a heart beat, I just can't shift this bad feeling of thinking I'm going to have to go through the process of a loss again! I'm reading so many posts saying different things and my pregnancy feels no different to my others which makes me think have the baby stopped growing again.

you can't hear a heartbeat at 8 weeks abdominallly.

the uterus is palpable above the pelvic brim at around 16 weeks.

I won't say don't worry, but neither of these things are signs of concern.

Best of luck

It's completely normal not to have any symptoms, and I wouldn't expect a hard stomach or even any sign of a bump at 8 weeks. I know it's hard not to worry with what's happened in the past, but symptoms or lack of symptoms doesn't really mean much. You won't be able to hear heartbeat using a doppler until sometime in second trimester. Hopefully all goes well and you get good news at your scan next week!!

No bump for first trimester is normal in the first pregnancy 😉 when it gets to the third, it's another story

Bellesjp · 20/09/2022 17:10

At 8 weeks baby is still tucked down inside your pelvis, definitely normal not to have a hard stomach! Any 'bump' would be bloat which not everyone gets 😊

I've got twins. I had no belly / bump / bloating until 18 weeks. I also only had v v feint positive tests.

I had a MMC before where I was sick as a dog until 10 weeks, blazing positive tests.

All pregnancies are different don't stress. Get a private scan if you are anxious. I had one at 7+3 with the twins, really helped the anxiety, apart from the anxiety about having twins!

Bin the doppler. They’re not recommended. You’ll just stress yourself as you already acknowledge.

the baby is only around 2cm in size so it’s still right down in your pelvis atm.

If you don't know how to use a Doppler or what you are listening for. It is only going to make your anxiety worse. Put it away. Good luck with this pregnancy though.
