Hi,

2nd baby , 20+3 weeks, past few days had what i reckon is braxton hicks in the night, uncomfortable enough to wake me but i manage to fall back to sleep. Feels like my entire stomach has a massive stitch in it. Is 20 weeks too early for this? what does it mean? Can i take paracetomol for it?

With my 1st DD pregnancy I had none of this so this is new. I was also induced on gas+air and epidural so i dont really know what a contraction would really feel like. I 100% dont think its a contraction obviously just saying I dont really have experience with this type of thing.

I have an appointment with my consultant tomorrow anyway, but just wanted peoples advice/experience.

:)

I had braxton hicks in my 1st pregnancy from about this stage and everything was fine. It used to freak me out as it was like my stomach had been vacuumed packed.

I’m 31 weeks now with baby number 2 and have had them for a few weeks. I tend to get them if I’ve been quite energetic that day.

I would contact midwife if they become regular or you have any other worrying symptoms.
