My last period started on the 4th of September and my husband and I weren't careful one evening. Fast forward a few days and I'd been busy with work, kids and life and it just slipped my mind to have the morning after pill. By the time I remembered it was too late.
Last week I had stomach pain which I just thought was my IBD playing up, but then I went to the bathroom and I'd had a small brown bleed. Which I think may have been implementation. Since then, I've got very sore boobs, more stomach pain and I also feel and look incredibly bloated.
We already have 2 children, aged 9 and 3. I was ill with both pregnancies and after my last birth I almost died of sepsis. For my husband, it was terrifying and he's said often he doesn't want anymore children because he worries what will happen. My body also didn't cope well, and my midwife even said I probably shouldn't have more babies. I think most of the pain was related to IBD and hypermobility which I wasn't diagnosed with until after my second baby.
My next period isn't due until the 2nd of October so I have a little time to wait. However, I have a feeling I know what the answer is going to be. I'm pro choice so I can think about all the options. But for me, once I know I'm pregnant, I won't be able to terminate. I know everything will be fine, we love being parents and the girls would be over the moon to have another baby in the house. I think I'm most worried about how my husband will take the news, he loves being a dad but I know secretly he'll be terrified of what might happen to me.
I've got a while to wait until I can take a test, so I'm keeping it to myself. Has anyone else been through this?
