Bleeding in early pregnancy

Hi! I was hoping for abit of advice😬 I've recently found out I'm pregnant. I already have a 3 year old and had no spotting/implantation with her during my first pregnancy.

I'm know i must be early with my second but i have noticed what i believed was spotting, however seemed more like a light period.

I've never experienced bleeding before I have been more worried as its my third day of this light flow. It's red and can sometimes be stringly blood or little clots. I wondered if this was normal? Unfortunately i havent been able to speak to my gp about it yet. Im scared it could be more serious.. any advice would be a great help, Thank you!

The guidance is to call your GP or midwife in that scenario. If you can't get through (and assuming you don't yet have a midwife) you should be able to call your local early pregnancy unit - find them on the website of your nearest hospital

Persevere with trying to get through to your GP and have them refer you to your nearest early pregnancy unit. I had bleeding throughout the first trimester in both my pregnancies and both times the GP to EPU pathway was very helpful.

Both of those pregnancies were successful and I now have two lovely girls. In my case the bleeding was from my cervix, not the actual uterus.

Sorry I know this post is old but @CoalCraft how did they see the bleeding was from your cervix?
for the last two weeks I’ve had brown spotting or pink upon wiping every other day. I’ve been told not to worry about it unless it becomes heavier and I also had a scan last night which measured me at 10+4 but the spotting is causing me so much anxiety. The scan was private and they didn’t check the cervix. Just said ā€œeverything looks as it shouldā€. I’m so worried.

They couldn't see cervical bleeding directly. It was more just that they couldn't see any source of blood in the uterus, and that just leaves the cervix x
