Hiccups

How often does your baby get hiccups? I read that after 32 weeks they aren't usually as frequent, but I'm 35 weeks and she has them at least 3 times per day. Anyone else the same ?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes, one of my DS is a toddler now and had them all the time up until his birth! He has food allergies and we had a heck of a time with reflux when he was a baby - not sure if they are linked, thinking about it. He hiccups still now but a normal amount Grin

Thanks for replying. That's really interesting about the reflux, did you breastfeed or formula feed?

I’m 40 weeks today and baby still getting hiccups. I wondered the same.
I actually always thought the hiccups were kicks until a few weeks ago I’ve realised it’s hiccups 😂
but I have been getting them around twice a day still.

Raindrops2015 · 20/09/2022 13:51

I asked at my appt about hiccups 2 or 3 times a day (34/35 weeks) as I had read same thing. Obstetrician said it was completely fine.

Boxofsockss · 20/09/2022 13:54

I had them so bad during my pregnancy. Every day. Multiple times a day. Multiple times an hour even. I also has terrible heart burn. All
stopped as soon as she arrived !

Greenbks · 20/09/2022 13:55

my baby used to hiccup in the womb (birthed her at 34 weeks) and when she was a baby atleast 3-5 times a day. She didn’t suffer from bad reflux (just a small amount)

it just got annoying after a while but also reassured me she was ok!

Greenbks · 20/09/2022 13:56

That’s funny- I also had terrible heartburn so perhaps that’s why?

TooHotToTangoToo · 20/09/2022 13:58

When pregnant with my, now 14 yr old dd, I remember her having hiccups all the time, especially in the evening

PinkButtercups · 20/09/2022 14:04

DS had hiccups all the time!
Never had reflux issues luckily.

I remember googling the hiccups and found some horrors on google! I asked my midwife and she said it's completely fine and completely normal and don't listen to google 🤣.

redlou123 · 20/09/2022 14:52

I'm currently 39 weeks and mine still has them around 3 times a day as well (sometimes more, sometimes less). I mentioned it to my midwife around 34 weeks after worrying myself after reading google. She assured me it was perfectly normal and I should only be concerned if his movements/behaviour changes.

Margo34 · 20/09/2022 14:56

My now toddler used to hiccup like clockwork in utero at the same time every day....and for a good few months after birth at the same time too! Could set my watch by it 😂 I found it weirdly reassuring during pregnancy and actually missed it after giving birth!

Aappleaday · 20/09/2022 16:56

When I was pregnant with my DD she had hiccups multiple times a day until birth, I used to read things online and get very paranoid but she was absolutely perfect! She’s 2 now and still gets hiccups daily 😊.
Gosh I remember her keeping me up many a night with her having hiccups! I remember mentioning something to my midwife and got a very strange look, suggesting it’s more than fine xx

georgarina · 20/09/2022 16:59

DD had constant hiccups
No reflux when she was born! But she did have allergies

My baby had hiccups so much right to the end of pregnancy. She's 6 weeks now and still a very hiccupy baby!

Dyra · 23/09/2022 14:31

Another one here with a very hiccupy in utero baby. She went on to be a very hiccupy baby on the outside too. She's 3 now, and grew out of it once she was walking.
