I soaked over night, rinsed, and then cooked for 1 hour kidney beans to go in my chilli last night. Everyone has been fine, but woke up to very painful cramps at 3am. By 6am was violently throwing up, and have had non stop diarrhea all day long. My tummy still hurts, and managed to drink one glass of water all day. DH has gone out to get me some dioralyte.

Will the baby be ok?? Worried i caused harm :-(

I’m a bit confused how the kidney beans are related but nevertheless I’d let your midwife know you’ve had food poisoning. Or call the midwife unit? I’m sure your baby will be absolutely fine but it never hurts to get checked over.

There is definitely a big doing the rounds up and down the country- maybe you’ve got that? I had it last week and have heard so many people say they’ve had it too. It only lasted about 24 hours though. I ended up having to postpone my c section until tomorrow because if it.
If you’re still feeling bad, maybe give your midwife or triage a call. Otherwise, try to sip water to keep hydrated.
Hope you feel better soon!

The beans were still on the hard side although i thought i cooked them for long enough.

Definitely let your midwife know, but kidney beans cooked for 1 HR should be fine! But let them know
