HG support very depressed

I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and I’m sure I have HG. I am being sick over 15 times a day, can’t eat at all and can’t keep fluids down. I feel dizzy and achy and have no energy. I can’t move basically. I also have a 1 year old who I feel I have completely let down! She’s poorly at the moment and I’ve had to send her to her granny’s because I simply can’t look after her. Anyway she’s had to go to the hospital today to get checked as she’s not well and I can’t even go with her because I’m so poorly. I feel like the worlds worst mum and I don’t know how to cope. Advice?

So sorry to hear this. It's awful. And worse when you have another child as you don't just have yourself to worry about.
But you do need to look after yourself and it sounds like you need checking out by a medic yourself. So I suggest calling your midwife or the local unit (whatever the local protocol is, or even 111)

You need to go to your GP asap and get medication

I’m sorry, it is so miserable. Recommend Pregnancy Sickness Support: www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk Have you spoken to your GP about medication?

You're not the worlds worst mum at all- Being that sick is awful and you're physically too poorly to give her the attention she needs so done the right thing to send her to granny's. Please don't be hard on yourself! Lots of rest and don't beat yourself up xx

Oh 😔 💐 I too have HG at the moment (11 weeks) so understand how low and unwell you will be feeling. Have you seen the doctor about meds? Things I have found that have helped: protein shakes, ice lollies, digestive biscuits, full fat coke. How is your daughter? Can you video call her? I haven’t been able to do much for my daughter for a month now, feel like the world worst mum. Currently lying on the sofa watching her run riot around the living room.

Ah lovely, you haven’t let her down at all. You have two babies now and need to look after the little one, and yourself. I had exactly the same situation with my last HG pregnancy… my eldest had an emergency hospital stay and I just couldn’t manage it so my parents took shifts staying with my son. I felt awful but if you ask him now, he really loved his grandparents care and attention.
How are you looking after yourself? Are you keeping an eye out for signs of dehydration? Are you on medication? There are lots of options for meds, so worth persevering until you find one that helps. About the next three weeks will be the toughest, then things may well level out a little. HG pregnancies are the toughest experience… but you will absolutely get through it, and your eldest will forget all about the days she needed to watch hours of tv, or eat snacky teas, or play at someone else’s house… you just have to get through it anyway you can.
