10 weeks pregnant - reduction in symptoms

Hi all

I'm a little over 10 weeks pregnant (10+3). From about 6 weeks I've had quite bad nausea and morning sickness along with bad food aversions. The nausea lasted all day and some days I couldn't stand up straight.

For the past 4 days or so the sickness and nausea has really improved and I've even managed to put some make up on and leave the house 😂 is this just a phase or is quite common for things to calm down around week 10? I've read the placenta takes over around now and this can have an effect. Any experiences welcome xx

@DBS94 yes really common. I started to feel a bit better at around 11 weeks and it continued to ease with moments of bad nausea again. Enjoy it while it lasts and still rest lots. I found getting tired made things feel pretty bad again x

Wet normal. Your placenta has taken over so the symptoms have reduced a bit

Nausea improved for me significantly from about 10 weeks x

Thanks all for your replies!

The nausea is definitely still there as when I was brushing my teeth I started to gag and had to stop. My husbands football boots also made me run to the bathroom 😂🤢 it's just a nice feeling having a bit of control again and being able to leave the house for some fresh air x

I’d say mine was less constant from then but still could kick in with a vengeance right up until about 22 weeks. I was sick last Sunday at 24 weeks but then been ok since

Mine always stopped and started. I would randomly have days where I suddenly felt totally normal and it freaked me out. But it was fine

DBS94 · 18/09/2022 09:47

I actually take comfort from the nausea some days, I feel like it's a good sign that things are progressing ✨

It was the same for me - by the time of the 12 week scan I was worried I wasn't actually pregnant at all! (I was Grin)
