Utrogestan rectally?

For those on progesterone during pregnancy: is anyone on Utrogestan Vaginal? I'm wondering if these can be used rectally? I ran out of Cyclogest, which I only used in the back 😆

Utrogestan eems to say for vaginal use, but I've had a bad thrush, so moved to back end and don't want to change it now! Just wonder if it gets absorbed rectally - any experience welcome. X

Hi OP, I wa told by my doctor that it can only be used vaginally. What doseage are you on? I've just got my new prescription and been given cyclogest instead of utrogestan!

@RugbyGirl1, thank you, I've got the 200mg pessaries twice a day.
I miss the good old Cyclogest, seems to me it was easier - no mess, no thrush in the back end!
Did you have any side effects with Utrogestan? I read it can make you drowsy?

@SavedByGraceAlone I had no side effects at all with utrogestan but they can be a bit messy so pantyliners are a must! Try and lie down for 10-15 mins after but it's not always possible. I was on 200mg x 3 a day. Doctor gave me 400mg cyclogest 3 x a day which seems a lot and everywhere I read says 2 x 400 is fine so just going to do two....

That sounds sensible, 3 times a day sounds A LOT!
