hi everyone,
just looking for some advice as i've never had this with a previous pregnancy i'm currently 5 weeks pregnant. however on Wednesday afternoon when i went to the toilet when i wipe there is a really light pink on the tissues this only happened maybe 2 times that i went to the toilet it then stopped completely for the rest of the night til the next day my first wee if the day i wipe and it's a really light pink again it hadn't got any heaviest or darker in colour i then have nothing all day till the afternoon again i wipe and the light pink is there again. i had nothing friday all was fine. i wake up this morning and the light pink is back again! i'm really starting to worry as i never had this with my other pregnancy's i've spoke to the doctor he didn't seem worried he said it's just a waiting game really as i'm so early and unless it's a deep read like i've cut myself to try not to worry. thank you for ready any advice would be really appreciated thank you Smile

This happened in both of my pregnancy's, first pregnancy it was just a little pink, second was a huge bleed, both turned out to be nothing, but please go to early pregnancy unit if your worried or anxious. Hope your okay x

Laurenp1995 · 17/09/2022 20:21

Thank you so much i've only wiped again once and it's been pink again sort for TMI. am i able to go to EPU without a doctor referral as i spoke to my gp and he told me it's basically a waiting game and to only call back if it gets worse xx

I've been having this on and off at 8, 10 and 13 weeks. It's really scary as I had no bleeding with my first. I'm 18 weeks now and everything is looking fine and they can't find any cause of the bleeding so think it must be hormonal or an irritated cervix.
My EPU you call directly but I know some don't do that, worth checking your hospital website to see if they have instructions. Good luck, hope all works well for you.

Laurenp1995 · 17/09/2022 21:20

thank you is so reassuring to hear from everyone they have had it and gone on the ah e healthy pregnancies it gives me hope! as i never had this with my other children too! thank you i'll check the website now see if i can see anything about my EPU if it's referral only i'm tempted to book and pay for a private scan!

@Laurenp1995 i went to a&e both times, the triage at a&e checked me over and both times sent me to epu for a scan, both turned out perfectly healthy. Try not to worry yourself, but if it happens again I'd definitely go to a&e, or ring out epu and ask to be seen x

Laurenp1995 · 17/09/2022 22:15

@boymummys thank you i mean i'm counting on the tact that that it's not got any heavier and it's literally only when i wipe the only thing is when i asked my gp about a scan he said if the scanned me hey wouldn't see anything as i'm only just 5 weeks pregnant i've looked on my locks hospitals website for the epu and it seems like you need it o be referred i'm getting 2-3 weeks on the clear blue at the min so i'm hoping end of next week i'll get a 3+ result! and i think to ease my worries i'll book a private one just to help me feel better! xx

I'm currently 23weeks pregnant (DC3) and have had this on and off since I found out, literally only when wiping, freaked out due to 2 previous MC, so had 2 extra scans at EPU (8weeks and 16weeks) and baby is completely fine, turns out it's a cervical ectropion- which I've never heard of untill now! Best of luck and hope all turns out ok with you Xx

Laurenp1995 · 18/09/2022 11:28

@Buttons0x thank you i think that's why i'm freaking aswell due to a previous MC you see it and just think the worst i'm trying my beta to sty calm to keep nerves and stress at bay! i've decided next week if i don't get a 3+ on a clear blue to book a early scan (privately) i now have my booking appointment too and will 100% mention it then thank you for your positive story really helps xx

@Laurenp1995 I've had similar in previous pregnancies. My EPU won't see anyone without a referal and not until 6 weeks. The day I turned 6 weeks I rung the midwife to arrange my booking apt and told her about the spotting. Despite it being our first contact she referred me to EPU straight away and I was seen next day. Might be worth a call to yours when you reach 6 weeks. If you've had a previous MC she should be more understanding and willing to refer you too. Good luck x

Beth262 · 19/09/2022 03:53

Sorry, should have added, I too had had a MC prior to my EPU referal. But in the instance above he is now 3yo and currently laying like a starfish in my bed! x

Laurenp1995 · 19/09/2022 16:15

@Beth262 thank you i've finally managed to get a referral to the epu and should be being scanned tomorrow so that brings out a whole new bag of nerves now! i'm so scared! xxx

@Laurenp1995 Gald you've got an EPU referal and everything crossed for tomorrow. Try to relax as much as you can this evening - easier said than done I know! x

Laurenp1995 · 19/09/2022 20:24

@Beth262 thank you yes i'm trying my best my husband isn't letting me lift a finger! i'm taking comfort in the fact the weeks on the clear blue i did yesterday went up so i've gone from 2-3 to 3+ despite the pink!!! x

Hi

Yes I also had this with my first pregnancy, all was fine. Like a previous poster mine was also cervical ectropian which I had also never heard of at the time.

I think I initially had pink when wiping a bit at the start which I think might have also been related to implantation, then again 20+ weeks on and off til end of pregnancy which turned out was the ectropian.

Laurenp1995 · 20/09/2022 10:03

@invinovvv awww thank you so happy to hear positive stories i've not had any more fingers crossed and tomorrow i'm booked in for a early scan so feeling really nervous now! xx

I had this with DS but bright red blood at 11 weeks. Thankfully all was fine!

Had light pink/brown for a few days with this pregnancy. Went for an early scan at 8 weeks as midwife didn't refer me to the EPU like she should've 🙄 so didn't want to wait any longer. Again, thankfully (touch wood) everything is fine. Currently 25+3 with my DCDA twins!

Frazzled2207 · 20/09/2022 10:10

I definitely had this. Spoke to MW on numerous occasions and she was quite clear to only worry if it was red or brown.
think it’s fairly common. Both of my pregnancies resulted in a healthy dc.

LauraA31 · 20/09/2022 10:16

hello!

I had this a couple of weeks ago and it terrified me, i phoned my EPU and they got me a scan the following day. Had an internal scan as i thought i was 6 weeks, we could only see a gestational sac and yolk sac so they dated me back to 5+3 and gave me a follow up scan this week.
I was so upset and thought it was all over; then this Thursday we were measured at my original dates of 8+1 and we saw baby with a strong heartbeat!

They found a little pocket of blood in my uterus; opposite side of where baby is implanted so won’t impact my pregnancy unless it grows above 5cm but my EPU said that this little pocket is very common in early pregnancy and most of the time the cause of the bleed/spotting; most ladies don’t know they have it as it can absorb back into the body, they explained it as a bruise..

Keeping everything crossed for you that it is nothing, im still scared something bad has happened in the last week but im just trying to stay positive!

Laurenp1995 · 20/09/2022 15:47

thank you so much everyone i'm terrified for my scan tomorrow i feel sick and so nervous i so hope everything is okay don't think i'll be sleeping tonight i haven't had anymore bleeding so really hoping it's a good sign! xx
