FTM, I am 39+5 and woke up this morning with intermittent cramps nothing unbearable but defiantly there.

TMI, had a lot of sticky clear discharge and then when next going to the toilet, had this very tiny blood clot when I wiped. (Pic attached)

Pains have continued, about every 15-20 minutes, still no where near unbearable but enough to make me stop in my tracks at points

Could this be the start of something or am I just thinking wishfully?

Sounds like you could be in early labour, but you may well have a way to go. If you’re feeling upto it go for a walk, could speed things up.

I don’t think passing clots or blood is normal in labour, never heard of it. Go to maternity now.

It could be just plug but does look quite dark and bloody. While my plugs did have streaks of blood/ pink it was mainly clear thick jelly. I think you should at least go to triage and get checked out/ show them the photos.

I lost my mucous plug/had a bloody show on a Sunday morning, started having a few cramps on the Monday evening and DS didn't arrive until the Thursday!

Seems like your plug is getting out. It's the contraction that you have to follow, it's early stages. Its time to go. Hopefully if it goes smooth you could be in time for the news tonight with baby in arms. Good luck OP.

With my first I had this the night before early labour started, and then it was another day and night of progressive contractions before going to hospital and baby was born the next evening :)

With the second I had this, went to lie down on the couch, stood up and water broke and she was born four hours later!

But more likely with the first that this is the very start but you will progress slowly. Good luck x
