Hi,

I was hoping someone can give me some advice!

I have just found out I am pregnant, it is very very early days only 5 weeks tomorrow.

I have a nipple piercing that I have had for around 12 years! I would love to BF and I have read that my nipple piercing should not effect this I just obviously need to take it our before I start.

My question is should I remove it now, so that is a good few months to heal or am I better off removing it when baby arrives ?

I am happy to do either, I just want to do what is the best thing for baby and BF.

Thank you x

I had a nipple piercing, although I'd taken it out before I got pregnant. I fed DD1 for 13m and DD2 for 15m. I did have milk coming out of the holes as well as normal milk ducts which was quite amusing!
Personally I'd remove it sooner rather than later just for comfort etc unless you're planning to try and keep the piercing x

I took mine out early on as they became weirdly sore. Nicely healed by the birth and no issues feeding.
