Trying for first baby

Hello everyone

New here to mumsnet and me and my partner are trying for baby number one. This is the first month I have properly tracked my ovulation and when we had sex.

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the dates below and is it likely we could be pregnant this month. Any tips on quick conception would be great 💕😊

What's strange I also had some bright spotting on CD11 has anyone had this before??

I would invest in a basal body thermometer and use an app to input the data. It will give you a more accurate idea of when you ovulate and you can do that alongside the OPKs. I got pregnant on the first cycle of using both, after trying for a long time (it was also my first cycle after having an HCG which I think was a huge part of it).

Thank you I have used OPK in the photo attached hopefully was a good month 🤞🏻 Ive been using an app to track my period for a long time and also inputting my info on my ovulation results my predictions on the app are Farley close to my OPK results😊 I will also look into a basal body thermometer thank you!!

I second the pp, an app for the opk’s (I use Premom but any others would work) and bbt in the mornings. I used fertilityfriend to track the bbt. You can put additional data in, such as dtd, cervical mucus, opk etc.

We dtd every 2-3 days from before the fertile window until just after.

Sounds like you have the best chance that you can have this month! Bleeding could be ovulation bleeding (I never got this before TTC but all sorts of things changed when TTC just to mess with my head, and I frequently got ovulation bleeding). Good luck, I hope it happens quickly for you. Thermometer will only tell you after you’ve ovulated so just use it as a check, keep using OPKs :)

It looks like your positive OPK result was on CD11. We conceived our second child on the first cycle by DTD on the day of the positive OPK, so if it was me I would have DTD on CD11...but that doesn't mean you won't be in luck this cycle! You've covered a couple of days before so are in with a good chance. Fingers crossed for you!

Thank you got my fingers crossed I will start testing from 9DPO ☺️ I am still using my OPKs for the next week to make sure my ovulation have finished

Hoping as we DTD the day before looks like I started to get my peak on CD10 and was fully there CD11 we DTD CD10 quite late on in the night so hoping that's close enough for my peak

Good luck! If its any help...with our first child we had no success in the first cycle by just focusing on the predicted fertile week but then conceived second cycle by DTD every other day from the end of one period until the start of my next. For our second child we didn't have the opportunity/energy/drive to do the same, so I used OPKs for a couple of months before TTC as my cycles were irregular after coming off the pill and we needed to focus on timing rather than quantity 😂 the Premom app works well with the Easy@Home OPKs

Currently 10DPO and results are negative but my period isn't due for another 4 days so got my fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻
