32 weeks pregnant with DC2 and I feel like all my symptoms throughout this pregnancy have appeared earlier than they did last time around! I don't remember feeling this huge and uncomfortable and peeing so frequently until much later on with DC1...I'm convinced baby is coming early but also don't want to set myself up for agonising waiting towards the end if I'm wrong 😅

Has anyone else felt similar or just had a sense that baby will come early? Were you right?

When I hit 39 weeks (on a Wednesday) I woke up and said to DH "you need to make sure the bathroom is retiled by next Saturday". Sure enough, baby arrived the following Friday. I really did have such a strong feeling about it!

This time round I'm having a planned section so annoyingly I won't get to use my powers Grin

@scramblesontoast the million dollar question though...did he finish the kitchen in time?!?!

Two days before I had my first I had this overwhelming feeling that I should stay close to home.

Chattycathydoll · 16/09/2022 12:19

They scheduled my c-section and when I got the date said, ‘that’s ridiculous, she’ll be born before then.’ They wouldn’t change it and sure enough, an emergency c section because she came early.

ReeseWitherfork · 16/09/2022 12:24

I had “the feeling the baby was coming” every couple of days from about 37 weeks and all I did was disappoint myself until I went into labour at 41. That’s a whole month of hell. DT were born at 36 weeks and the worry and mild complications of having babies born even a month early is not to be overlooked or downplayed. So I hope your baby stays cooking in there for a very long time yet.

Washed all new baby stuff and told XH to build the crib at 38 wks

XH: You've still got a couple of weeks to go
Me: Not necessarily, babies can come early
XH: You're fine

30hrs later
DS: HELLO WORLD!!!

He got the tiling done in time! Grin

FourTeaFallOut · 16/09/2022 13:24

Awful. Didn't even have my bag packed when dc1 made an appearance at 38 weeks because all first babies are late, right 🙄😁. Assumed dc2 would be earlier...arrived at 42 weeks on the dot. Dc3 I thought would be early, had everyone prepped for a Nye baby - asked DH not to drink- arrived over a week later.

Mummytobe333 · 16/09/2022 13:48

Love this thread! Due next week and have absolutely no ‘feelings’ which means baby will probably be late. Absolutely no signs or gut feelings that it’s going to be soon.

wibblewobbleball · 16/09/2022 13:50

Convinced DD would be early. She arrived at 41+5 Grin

LadyCatStark · 16/09/2022 13:55

Miles out, I thought he’d be slightly early and he was 15 looong days late (the extra day was due to it being a Sunday and they wouldn’t induce me til the Monday but he came in the early hours of the Monday morning anyway). My mum said he’d come naturally just as I was due to be induced so she was sort of right.

HorribleHerstory · 16/09/2022 13:58

I didn’t have much of a feeling about my first although 17 days late was somewhat of a surprise.

with the others I expected a similar wait but both arrived before due dates.

no rhyme or reason

3peassuit · 16/09/2022 18:36

DC1 was 2 weeks early DC2 two weeks late. Strangely, my mum was accurate to a day with her birth date predictions for both pregnancies.

Erber · 16/09/2022 20:35

Absolutely not a clue. 1st time waters went at 35 weeks, totally spontaneous. She was born the next day after induction.

I was very anxious with #2 because I was convinced she'd be even earlier. We were never given any reasons as to why DD1 randomly came 5 weeks early. Had horrendous very spontaneous diarrhoea at 26 weeks and was terrified it was the start of labour. She was born 38 weeks exactly after waters went at 37+6. Again, absolutely no warning, waters went when I got up to the toilet at 4.30am. Contractions didn't even start for another 16 hours.

I'm now 11.5 weeks pregnant with #3 so we'll see if I do better this time around!

dizzydizzydizzy · 16/09/2022 21:00

Very wrong. Thought it would be 38 weeks. Both babies born at nearly 42 weeks.

greenerfingers · 16/09/2022 22:22

Was told baby would be premie, at 37 weeks I convinced myself baby would be early because of what I'd been told but he wasn't. Then accepted my fate that I'll be late as all first time babies are.. he was born at 39+6 on my anniversary. Total surprise but such a relief he was out. This time I'm much heavier and everything feels earlier. I'm interested to see what will happen.

georgarina · 17/09/2022 18:56

Both of mine came around 2 weeks early and I felt early symptoms for a couple weeks before. Had DD at 38 weeks and I remember at 36 weeks thinking just hold on a bit longer!

So yes I had a feeling they would come early.

georgarina · 17/09/2022 18:57

^And I remember texting DP with our first saying 'I hope you're still feeling ready!' (because he had just been saying he was ready for baby to come) and the next night I went into early labour.

Vodka1 · 17/09/2022 19:02

I was convinced my second was coming early, he did not. 5 days late

My third i was scared and CERTAIN she was coming every single day from breech confirmation to the build up to my c section. Regret it massively.

sunshinesupermum · 17/09/2022 19:05

Bang on with DGS1! I even booked travel to come home in time for DD to go into labour two weeks early lol
