Were your pregnancies different?

First pregnancy had a boy and I breezed through, no morning sickness or tiredness and was in top health! Was even going on 10km walks in my 3rd trimester.

This pregnancy I have morning sickness (more nausea), gestational issues, so tired I don't want to get out of bed, so emotional and have had a cold for ages 😫

Wondering if anyones was different with same or different genders?

Yes - I was like you in my first pregnancy, glowing with health and lots of energy (boy)... drained and exhausted with both girls, and definitely sick in first trimester. Think there's an old saying about a boy giving you health and a girl taking it (in pregnancy, not life!) Good luck with it all x

PressPauseontheMenopause · 13/09/2022 19:29

Should also add that the girl births were far easier and more efficient, but that could be because my son was first x

Yes! First pregnancy (girl) was delightful, I felt and looked gorgeous, loved my food, wanted loads of sex, was calm and happy. Despite having awful heartburn and gestational diabetes I loved it all.

second pregnancy (boy) was uncomfortable, he turned breech and had hiccups constantly, I felt fat, haggard and crotchety, hungry but never satisfied, and couldn’t stand the sound of DH breathing let alone want to have sex with him.

DD has turned out to be a very easy and chilled individual while DS is demanding and highly active. I’m pretty sure those personalities came through in the womb!

DramaAlpaca · 13/09/2022 19:39

My three pregnancies were all very similar. All resulted in lovely boys.

YouBoggleMyMind · 13/09/2022 19:44

Yup. DS was a breeze, 39 weeks pregnant with DD and it's been less than fun!!

Underthemoon1 · 13/09/2022 19:49

My first was pretty rough and was a DD, second much easier and DS, third really tough again and really like my first so I was sure it was a DD but it was a DS.

JoandLily · 13/09/2022 20:06

My pregnancies were both the same and I've a girl and a boy

princessrapunzel · 13/09/2022 20:13

Yes i was the same as you, first pregnancy was lovely, i actually enjoyed it (boy). This time round its one thing after the other, in the 28 weeks ive been pregnant ive only felt ok for a week tops (girl).

GiantTortoise · 13/09/2022 20:15

My first pregnancy (boy) was pretty easy. Second pregnancy I had some morning sickness (just feeling sick, not actual vomiting) and I had a girl. Third time I felt even worse, so I thought maybe a girl, but that one was a boy.

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 13/09/2022 20:16

Another one with a lovely first boy pregnancy - I looked great and felt really well, craved fruit and went off coffee and chocolate.

Second time with my DD I looked gross (awful spots), felt horrendous and craved stodge for the entire pregnancy! I knew she was a girl by week 5.

jennyt82 · 13/09/2022 20:16

I had three identical pregnancies and one that was the complete opposite. I have 4 boys!

Sunbun19 · 13/09/2022 20:17

I had sickness for exactly 22 weeks with both my dd and ds

But with ds I was way more exhausted and had constant heartburn throughout

I've decided to stop at two 😄

DigestiveDip · 13/09/2022 20:21

Very different. Was pretty healthy and robust with DS (first). Bit of morning sickness at first but that passed. Very knackered at the end as went overdue and was HUGE. But mainly an uneventful pregnancy. Horrific Labour, though.

Pregnancy with DD was horrendous. Had violent hyperemesis, two bouts of tonsillitis, obstetric cholestasis. Basically sick as a dog all the way through. Had her 5 weeks early. Very straightforward birth made up for the pregnancy!

cptartapp · 13/09/2022 20:26

No, I heaved through most of both of them.
Two boys.

homarrrer · 13/09/2022 20:26

I have 2 little girls.

First pregnancy I had a bit or morning sickness but felt full of life, wasn't tired. Really happy and relaxing pregnancy.

2nd pregnancy I had a bit of morning sickness again but I also found myself completely exhausted every day. I could have slept for hours each day if I didn't have another child. I felt like I was about to drop dead throughout the whole pregnancy and then I had a fit and developed epilepsy!

CloseYourMouthLynn · 13/09/2022 20:28

Much sicker and spottier with a girl and big all over (although that might have been the doughnuts). Better skin, no sickness and much neater bump with a boy.teo completely different labours as well.

Loulou1712 · 13/09/2022 20:40

I was nauseous for longer with DD1 and DD2 and had brittle hair and nails, so far I'm 36 weeks with DS1 and feel healthier in general, I finally have that pregnancy hair people talk about, so I guess I've fallen into the typical girl vs boy stereotypes x

Bootsandcat · 13/09/2022 20:42

Different gender. First pregnancy was a breeze, second pregnancy had lots of complications, nearly died and was hospitalised twice…

annlee3817 · 13/09/2022 21:29

First pregnancy no sickness and barely any symptoms.

Second pregnancy awful nausea and spent a good 8 weeks just wanting to cry because I felt so crap.

Both girls

winniesanderson · 13/09/2022 21:35

Mine were very similar actually now I think about it. Similar symptoms such as a really altered sense of smell and similar weird cravings. I was more tired with my youngest but was also a fair bit older - there's a 9 year age gap. Both dd's, similar weights and similar-ish births. Youngest did need a bit of monitoring but with both was able to go home a few hours later.
