Wouldn't it be better to know for sure and not just suspect?

storch · 23/01/2008 17:24

actually, I am shitting myself which is why I won't test. I had a test in the trolley last weekend and I panicked and took it out before I got to checkout.

I don't suspect, I 'know' iyswim? fell like seeing blue line(s) will make me vomit with nerves.

Would it be so bad if you are pregnant?

How do you know for sure?

More details needed

cluckyagain · 23/01/2008 17:27

Come on - spill!!

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 23/01/2008 17:29

well i care so can you please test!!!

think of all the resting you will be allowed!

storch · 23/01/2008 17:38

It wouldn't be bad at all. was considering it for later this year anyway but I think even then I would be feeling like a spooked teen.

I had an awful pg, a horrendous labour and 10 dark weeks after dd's birth - pre-eclampsia, jaundice (didn't get out for hosp for 7 dys) and then dh was working away and was alone with a tiny baby for 10 wks.

that is why I am shit scared. also dd is still feeding and I was hoping to wean her (or nearly wean her) before trying. She nurses for England so wasn't too hopeful that was going to happen. I don't see myself as a tandem feeder but dd melts down for her milk and I am so feckin soft. It is so great to calm her at night and when she is upset or ill.

Don't worry too much about still BF your DD, DS2 was soooooooo keen on his milk, I thought I'd have major trouble getting him off, but as it turned out at 10 months he dropped day time feeds, followed by a couple of weeks later, the night feeds, and he hasn't seemed to miss it at all.

It sounds like you had a rough time of it last time, but surely that you came through it, just show's how strong you are, and you will be better prepared to make sure nothing like that happens again?

Go and get a test FGS

NatalieJane · 23/01/2008 17:44

... Oh, and then come and tell us who you are, we all like a good guessing game, but there is one on the go already!

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 23/01/2008 17:45

Oh flipping heck. Another person not trying who may be pg.

storch · 23/01/2008 17:49

ah, I have already figured out the other pg namechanger is in 'chat'. smug

it was that thread that made me do this.

can't test tonight.

dd asleep and dh not home plus the nearest shop selling tests is over 5 miles away.

I know though. I have only missed my period once before. And I kid you not, for a few months once, I could nearly set my watch by the arrival of AF. I'm now more than a week overdue.

thanks NatalieJane. nice to hear that.

NatalieJane · 23/01/2008 17:59

You're welcome.

Make sure you tell us what happens when you get the test, sounds like you are pretty sure anyway

Now start the clues.... who are you?

storch · 23/01/2008 21:20

i post alot on breast and bottlefeeding.

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 06:57

Am I allowed to guess names?

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 07:45

Infact, it doesn't matter because I am almost certain I know who you are....

How sad am I, just spent last 10 minutes checking writing styles against all the Breast and Bottle feeding threads.....

If you are who I think you are, are we going to be spending a looooooooong time getting irritable?

Congratulations!!! I am sooo pleased for you xxxx

FoghornLeghorn · 24/01/2008 08:14

Don't know who you are but congratulations

belgo · 24/01/2008 08:37

storch - if you are pregnant, try not to worry about still breastfeeding your dd - I was still bfing when I became pregnant, dd1 was 11 months old or so. She stopped bfing very quickly, with no problems, and my milk just seem to 'disappear' overnight.

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 09:08

Actually, belgo just reminded me of the whole BF thing, I don't hink you are who I thought you were, I think she'd have been OK tandom feeding

Will get my thinking cap on again....

belgo · 24/01/2008 09:14

NJ - I think I got who the other namechange is - but only when it was practically spelt out!

Storch, I have no idea who you are

belgo · 24/01/2008 09:16

I also wait as long as I can before doing a pregnancy test - as the whole palava makes me feel dizzy and physically sick, whatever the result. It's such a potentially life changing test, that you can carry out in your own bathroom.

storch · 24/01/2008 10:50

i am ok with tandem feeding I just doubt highly that I could cope. I had v. painful nips last pg (so far not a prob.) I think that is one thing I couldn't bf through.

belgo, that is how I am. I feel physically sick just by having one of those testers in my hands.

I've figured when I start to feel morning sickness, et al, then I'll need no stinkin' test. This AM on the way to work I was waaay whoozy but it has settled now.

oh, if you are going by writing style, you probably have me sussed.

notnowbernard · 24/01/2008 10:52

I would have to test because I just wouldn't know... my pg symptoms were exactly the same as PMT

belgo · 24/01/2008 10:55

storch - I wonder if next time (hopefully there will be a next time)I'll also just wait until it is obvious that I am pregnant.

meandboys · 24/01/2008 10:57

Could you ask a friend to buy you the pregnancy test? Or maybe your dp/dh?

I wanna know now! Who are you? We will find out eventually, so just dish!

bero · 24/01/2008 11:03

I didn't test with ds2. But because I am never late, I knew what was up. I did do a test at about 5 days late, but it didn't work (as in didn't work at all), and tbh I think I wasn't all that careful about following the instructions. I ended up going to the doctor at over 2 weeks late, saying 'I'm pg, I haven't tested but I know I am, I'm scared of another mc'. Was scanned and had to wait another 2 weeks for a heartbeat.
