Some bleeding in labour

I bled during first labour, light at first and then became like a heavy period after maybe 3/4 hours. I never got an explanation but I assume it was due to fairly rapid dilation, I was having contractions every 5 mins after half an hour, and was fully dilated after 6 hours.
I’m just wondering if this happened to anyone else here and if so if it also happened in any of your subsequent labours.
Just trying to assess the likelihood of it happening again and manage my expectations, as I would like a homebirth, but this won’t be possible if I am bleeding.

TIA

I had a very fast labour.
My waters went in the corridor waiting to go into triage and they had blood in them.
I gave birth about 5 minutes later and when I asked they said it was just to dilating so fast and nothing to worry about.

However my first labour was pretty slow and they broke my waters and I had no bleeding so I think it's all hard to predict.

Always worth asking the midwife.
Good luck with everything x

I bled in my first labour a bit like you describe.

I didn't bleed in my second labour at all.

Thanks both!

That’s good to know twizbe. I’m just hoping that everything will be already quite stretchy, so won’t mind dilating fast, if that happens again!
