Canesten pessary

Hi guys.

I saw my GP last week for having dryness and irritation. She sent off a swab and it came back as thrush. She gave me the Canesten pessary and cream combo on Friday. I followed the instructions and inserted the pessary Friday evening before before.

I’ve had some chalky discharge on my underwear and when wiping but not much. I went to the toilet earlier and there were about 3 larger chunks of the pessary undissolved in my underwear.

i am a little concerned incase this means it hasn’t worked due to the dryness I am currently suffering or is it okay? 3 days it’s taken to come out so just really unsure what to do

It's probably completely fine, but I would just buy another pessary from the pharmacy and repeat the treatment.

I used 2 pessaries, but it depends on the dosage. Ask the gp if you need to repeat.
also it takes a week for the symptoms to clear.

you can also try now some vaginal probiotics to replenish your flora, it might help with the dryness? It can’t hurt
