Bleeding at 6 weeks

I had a scan last week when they thought I’d be around 7 weeks but I only measured around 5-5.5 with a gestational sac, fetal pole and yolk sac. I had been scanned the week before and none of that was present and they warned I’d likely miscarry.. I was beyond devastated so couldn’t believe my eyes when they seen the pregnancy had progressed. I have a longer cycle hence why they think they were maybe out with the dates.

two nights ago I started bleeding, it started off light, only a little bit on my underwear and when wiping but it got a bit heavier yesterday with tiny tiny clots. I don’t have pain.. maybe slight cramps but nothing major. I’m back for a scan tomorrow but I just want to hear any positive stories of something similar?

Hi OP, sorry to hear you are going through a difficult time.

I can't comment on the difference in timing as I went through IVF so knew the dates exactly but it sounds positive that the pregnancy is developing!

With regards to the bleeding, I had a huge bleed at 6w+2 weeks, bright red blood, no clots. I was convinced I was miscarrying. I went to the EPU and had my first scan to be told the baby was there and we saw a heart beat. It was a hematoma that was bleeding. It was very large and I was told it was touch and go. The hematoma gradually reduced in size and now I have a 3months old beautiful baby boy.

I wish you all the best xx

We had IUI but waited almost 3 years to start fertility treatment due to all the tests and then covid struck! This was our 3rd IUI so I really hope everything is ok, we’ve waited so so long for this and it’s just been traumatic! I’d be devastated if it was over so quickly! Fingers crossed the scan goes ok tomorrow and it’s something else causing the problems.
