Quite possibly the most daftest question yet, but

  • Can my baby keep getting tangled up in the umbilical cord and if so is it alright if it does? The reason I ask this is because I keep feeling (amongst plenty of normal movements), a strange fast wiggle rather like a fish makes if you try and make a grab for it. The baby feels like it is trying to free itself. Is this the case or am I being a plank? (I am 39+2 btw)

i think its highly unlikely... but am no expert.

well it won't do it any damage in utero even if it does, which I doubt it would be able to at 39 weeks .. wouldn't it be too big

hi scary

i am 39+1 and been getting fast wriggly movements too - i put it down to the frustration of being cooped up inside mummys tummy

sorry that was of no help to you at all just wanted to say you are not alone.

hope all goes well with the birth!

Hi. Am 40+3 and occasionally get movements like this - I think you only need to worry if you feel 'frantic' (whatever that means!) movements followed by nothing at all. But like others have said, at this point I can't imagine it has enough room to do too much damage. But am also not an expert, so hopefully someone with more knowledge will be along soon.
