Perhaps not the best topic for a sunday afternoon but here goes.

I'm 27 weeks pregnant with no2 and pleased to say that the sex is still happening and very enjoyable.

But, I get quite bad muscle soreness at the sides of my bump and the bottom of the bump during orgasm and afterwards.

I dont remember getting this with my first pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced this by any chance?

The urge to be flippant and say "lucky old you" is just too much!!
Sorry, I know it must be worrying really...
Hope someone else can actually help!

I'm only 16wks but find that it is quite sore "inside" for a while afterwards (for about an hour maybe) its like a deep pain really, but it is in no way going to stop me from doing it! And the O's are quite intense when pg aren't they.

WOW - this is wierd as Im sitting here thinking "I really hurt after last night" but can;t possibly post about it = but im not pregnant. I shall follow this thread ....

Gobbledigook · 28/11/2004 17:27

Mckenzie - had the same thing when pg with ds3 - sounds exactly like you had. Really lasted quite a long time afterwards too (ie till next morning) but eventually wore off. I'd be leaning over the bed breathing like in labour it was so painful. Actually 'gave up' after the second time it happened because it really was that painful.

Oh God, hope my mother doesn't look at this thread!

What you are experiencing is ligament strain caused by braxton hicks contractions. When you have an orgasm, your bump contracts( practice contractions) you will perhaps feel it go hard but it is painless. Its not dangerous and the pregnancy books recommend its good for baby!!however what can sometimes happen is as your bump contracts its pulls on the ligaments that support it causing the pain and it will be quite sore afterwards, dont worry it wont harm you ar your baby at all.I used to have the same thing and the pain down the side of my bump used to take my breath away!

i had this too. nothing to worry about imo...

I have this as well. I am also sure that it is what Tipex and Spacecadet are saying.
Northstar - I wouldn't say it is a deep inside pain though.

Lonelymum · 29/11/2004 10:37

Probably the reason you didn't have it with your first baby is because your muscles/ligaments were not so stretched first time round. With each successive pregnancy, things become looser and more stretched. I know this because I could hardly walk when pregnant with No 4 because my pelvic floor ligaments had become so loose.

thank you all very much for these reassuring messages. Much appreciated.

I am still getting a deep pain after sex, like my bones actually hurt - for about an hour afterwards. Did anyone else experience this? I am 18wks pg.

Leogaela · 01/12/2004 09:14

Hi Northstar, It sounds different to my kind of pain. It is probably the same thing but maybe you should mention at your next check up. Do you get the pain other times?
