I'm 34 weeks and gained over 2 stone.

I'm already thinking of losing weight after. I am still running one time a week and plenty of walking/ hiking.

How quick did you return to pre baby weight and return to fitness?

Most of the weight had gone in about 3 months. The last couple of kgs had gone by the time my 1st was about 9 months old. I was breastfeeding and didn't diet. Fitness is a tricky one as my baby was just over 4 months old in March 2020... So although I was running through that period, my usual sport (rowing) was banned and I lacked motivation to do any serious amounts of training because I had no idea when I was actually going to be able to get back on the water to race (still haven't raced yet as am 33weeks with #2 now!).

It probably really depends how much training you are used to doing as to how quickly you get your fitness back.

Be careful, you don't want to overdo it and set back your recovery. Check with a doctor and ease yourself back in gently. My baby is six weeks old and I've just started exercising again, I've been doing specific postpartum workouts. Also it isn't always easy to find the time!

I gained over 2 stone pregnant, I gave birth 8 days ago and I am 5 pounds off my original weight and cannot believe it. I’m eating a lot more too as I am breastfeeding.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, our bodies are amazing xx

I put on 2 stone and lost it all within 2-3 weeks without any exercise. I think breastfeeding and being too busy to snack on junk food helped! You will be surprised at how resilient your body is!

It's taken me 6 months to get almost back to pre-pregnancy weight and thats with breastfeeding.
you need to be super protective of your pelvic floor when thinking about returning to exercise so make sure you get those kegels in now if youre keen on a speedy return post-natally

Hey, everyone recovers in their own time, don't feel pressured to have a quick recovery once you do give birth. I have just started a blog with a fitness and wellness in pregnancy series. We just interviewed a personal trainer and next month we are doing a Q&A with a certified yoga teacher and masseuse on exercises you can do and massages to help your joints. Let me know if there's any questions you'd like me to put towards her :)
