Bleeding normal?

I had some bleeding during Intercourse last weekend (13 weeks pregnant) we did not notice straight away but when we did it seemed like it was everywhere. Upon cleaning up the bleeding slowed down very quickly but after I passed a couple of clots and something small and stringy? In a panic we went to the hospital where I had a cervical exam where more clots were seen but no active bleeding and a ultrasound which was absolutely fine and we saw the heartbeat. I then received an Anti D shot as I am rhesus negative and we have not had the results back about the babies rhesus status. All has been absolutely fine since but I have been non stop worried. I just wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar? I did not tell the hospital that the bleeding occurred during intercourse for whatever reason and now I wish I had. I want to discuss it with a midwife but I don't have her number yet as she was on leave for my booking appointment, I see her in a few weeks but hope I have stopped worrying by then!

Quite common as your cervix is more sensitive, I had it regularly with my daughter (usually after a poo!). Sex can do the same thing, irritates your cervix. Definitely ask midwife at next appointment as she’ll reassure you x

Thank you! That makes me feel better. This is my first pregnancy and I'm already an anxious person! Just wish I'd actually told the hospital what was happening when the bleeding started in the first place 😂
