Feeling dodgy - could it be labour!?

Did anybody's labour start with what felt like an upset tummy and feeling a bit sick? I'm 38 weeks now and been feeling quite dodgy - very like I do just before my period starts. I probably just feel dodgy and that's all, but I was wondering if this could be the very early signs of labour? I'm still going to work and I don't want to be caught short (so to speak!) on the train or at my desk! Sorry - this is probably a really silly question now I look at it, but just thought I'd ask!

soremummy · 23/01/2008 10:49

Just felt uneasy, slightly queasy

i felt the same when my labour started, but not so much sicky, just the crampy period feeling.

Don't think I would go to work though just in case........ although I did have a very unexpected home birth! Just glad I wasn't shopping at the time and was just at home

Oh! I was thinking that maybe I just had a bit of a tummy bug or something. The thing is, this is the second day I've been feeling like this ... I thought if it was early signs of labour something might have happened by now. I'm also getting the odd kind of shooting pain down my upper thighs, only now and again though. Hmmmm. At work now, I'll just have to hope that the baby can wait a bit longer (it will probably be really overdue now I've said that)!

i had upset tummy, and felt very uncomfortable day before anything happened, i think reflexology helped labour start quicker for me.
I will suggest taking it easy at work today.

Sorry to put a damper on it, but I have been feeling like this for ten days now and apparently it can go on longer than that. But it is all preparation .

No, that's not a dampener madmouse! It would be better if it's NOT early labour as we've got to finish a big project at work first!Although obviously the baby doesn't know that and either way would be good really as I'm getting quite impatient to meet him or her.
