Miscarriage or implantation bleeding?

Digital test said 2-3 weeks on Saturday, today started bleeding. Very gentle cramping that’s uncomfortable rather than painful. Apologies in advance for the images, but I’m hoping someone here has some insight into this.

Miscarriage or implantation bleeding?

I’m sorry, I don’t think it’s implantation bleeding. As far as I know you get implantation and have bleeding (or not), then after implantation is when the hormone hcg that the pregnancy tests pick up on starts to rise to the level needed to test and get a positive. After implantation. I think it’s like 6+ days after implantation that there is enough hcg to detect on a test.

“ About four to five days after implantation bleeding, HCG levels in the body reach detectable levels in the blood. For at-home urine pregnancy tests, it may take up to 7 days for HCG levels in the urine to reach detectable levels for testing.“

“You can take a home pregnancy test during implantation bleeding. Keep in mind that the pregnancy hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (or hCG) that pregnancy tests detect only starts being produced in your body the moment the fertilized egg is implanted in the uterus — which is the trigger for implantation bleeding”

Since you’ve gotten positives and therefore have enough hcg in your body, This would mean this can’t be implantation bleeding. Also, it looks a LOT to be implantation bleeding. It’s usually spotting, pink/brown/rusty and can sometimes have a little red blood but not consistently red like your pic seems.

I would see a doctor maybe? Bleeding isn’t always the end of the pregnancy especially as I don’t see any clots or anything.

Please bear in mind this is just the knowledge I have picked up, I might be wrong.

I wish you the best. Please see a doctor and get checked and I hope all is well xxx

Do you have an early pregnancy unit in your hospital? It could be anything. My gynae/obs consultant is a miscarriage expert. This was over 10 years ago now but she said 50% miscarriage in early bleeding and 50% something else so don't give up hope.
Good luck fwiw I had loads of bleeding in my first successful pregnancy including massive bleed and clots in week 12, sone similar bleeding at about 8 weeks and she's 14 today 🥰

I would call an Early Pregnancy Unit if you have one or a pregnancy advice line/your midwife. That's what I did when I started bleeding last week. Sadly it wasn't good news for me but I have had other friends who have had bleeding and gone on to have healthy pregnancies. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you how are you doing @custardbear?

Hey guys, unfortunately later that day I passed what was very obviously the pregnancy. :( I’ve kept aside as it felt wrong to bin, but now what do I do? 😞

So sorry @CrimsonTear and sorry I tagged the wrong person in my previous post. The Tommy's website has some information as to your options if you miscarry at home. There is a Miscarriage/Pregnancy loss forum on here so do come over if you need anyone to talk to or have any questions ❤️

When I had a miscarriage some may say this is wrong….. but I put my baby (9 weeks still in the sac attached to the placenta) into a small see through tub like a baby weaning tub, and put that into a plant pot and bought a beautiful house plant. I still have it in my bedroom 3 years later it has red flowers but of course you can choose which ever house plant you like. I couldn’t flush my baby or put it outside in the cold. So in my bedroom on the windowsill my baby stays.
so sorry for your loss

custardbear · 11/09/2022 16:45

So sorry 🥺 x

@CrimsonTear I'm so sorry! I had a miscarriage in May and just like you, I couldn't bear flush what little I had left of my pregnancy down the loo.
Similarly to @BlueBunny23 I put it in a plant pot and planning to add it to a nice potted flower once we move house.
I also found the Miscarriage Association a great resource. They have a section where others talk about their experiences and it all helped make it feel like less of a lonely place.
Very sorry for your loss and anyone else who reads this and has gone through it. 💐

If it make you feel any better I've just had the same. Took a test Saturday and got a positive, started bleeding Sunday (filled a pad yesterday). Just been for blood to be taken, depending on the levels might need another lot taken next week 😪
