Struggling to conceive after miscarriage

Hi all,

We conceived on our very first attempt last December. (Age 31)
Unfortunately bleeding started and we miscarried between 6-7 weeks at the end of Jan. 7 cycles later, positive opks every month and still no BFP. Has anyone had a similar experience? Feels like the miscarriage has knocked something out of balance.

Hi there! It was pretty similar for us - conceived on first attempt, first ever pregnancy and unfortunately lost it around 6 weeks. This was earlier this year and we've not managed to conceive again yet. The difference might be that I know it's already a bit of a challenge because of my thyroid and my levels were completely all over the place after the loss. Slowly levelling out again now so hoping it will happen soon.
So maybe it is just your body needing a bit of time to even things out and make it the best environment possible for another pregnancy. I am keeping everything very firmly crossed for you!

Hey sorry to hear about this. I Hope my story can provide some hope, although every body is different

In 2016 i also conceived first time and unfortunately lost the baby at 7 weeks, i did eventually conceive a healthy baby boy on the 7th cycle.

These are a few things i did differently:

After the third cycle the stress and anxiety got too much so we decided to give it a bit of break for 6 months whilst we sort ourselves out.. We would still DTD without contraception but would DTD when we wanted to and not when them bloody ovulation sticks, apps tell us

I changed my lifestyle to a more balanced healthier one, eating more fruit veg, cutting down sugar, drinking more water, regular walking and taking vitmain b, d, folic acid and iron ( i can go anemic during stressful times) basically being more stress free if that makes sense.. We decided we would try the following year

This mentality and lifestyle helped me to de stress and without obsessively trying (e.g checking temps,. Ovulation etc etc) we got pregnant.

I know everyone is different with health and opportunities but i personally believe having some time to destress and relax really helps.

Wishing you both a successful pregnancy soon 💕

So sorry for your loss.

I conceived 3rd cycle which resulted in a MC at around 6/7 weeks. It was then a whopping 18 months before we convinced again.

Happy to report I now have a 1 year old DS though and am pregnant again with no2 (completely unexpected as we thought it'd be a long haul again!)

I'd see if you can get a blood test, check your thyroid and a few other basic things as I have hypothyroidism and thyroid levels being out of whack can really affect your fertility! I found my thyroid went a bit all over after my MC.

Good luck OP

Thanks so much for your replies.

I feel like all I had read previously were stories of being being super fertile after miscarriage so was driving myself crazy! I actually just had my thryroid checked and it is a little off at 3.1 so hopefully sorting that will help. @Skippy90 i wish you all the best of luck too!

Hi OP I’m in a similar boat. Conceived after 11 months in December last year, sadly had a MMC in Feb. Been trying ever since with OPKs, don’t think we are doing anything wrong - I’ve taken 10 months plus to conceive both times. Just trying to focus on other things but I’m getting really impatient now! Hoping to conceive before the year is out. Good luck x
