Pregnant again with a 17 week old baby...

I have very recently found out that I am pregnant again which has come as a complete shock!
My daughter is 17 weeks old and the baby will be due a couple of days before her 1st birthday.
Besides the obvious risks of being pregnant so soon after giving birth (which I will be discussing with my midwife/doctor), does anybody have any experience of raising 2 children with a 1 year age gap?
My daughter is such a brilliant baby and my main concern is that I won't be able to give her all the love and attention that she needs.

No experience sorry, but I am reading Sarah Ockwell-Smith's book The Second Baby Book which could be helpful, I believe she had all of her children close together. Her first and second are 15 months apart.

It's on audiobook as well if that's easier x

Hi there,

My sons were 13.5 months apart, and they have a wonderful relationship. I wont lie the baby years are hard work, it's like having twins, but the good news is, it gets super easy as they grow up. Just one set of activities, one school run, they are into the same sports, hobbies, are each other's best friend. Share clothes, are at the same developmental stage (more or less).

You frontload the parenting work: with all the nappies, bottles, teething out of the way for the first 5 or 5 years and after that it is plain sailing.

My brothers kids arent much more than a 1yr apart. They get on amazingly well. It seemed to be hard work to begin with but tbh it has its advantages too.

As long as it is healthy for you to do so, i wouldnt be too concerned.
