Had my midwife booking appointment today I’m 8 weeks pregnant they have put a yellow sticker on my file as I need antibiotics during labour due to testing positive last week for GBS (group b strep) when I gave birth to my last son he was poorly and all I was told was I had an infection that was passing to him but nothing more they said today it was likely he had contracted the GBS during labour, they also told me because I’ve had 3 previous premature babies that this one if likely to be born around 37 weeks and I will have to have heparin injections from 28weeks pregnant until 6 weeks after the birth. Anyone else had this? Todays appointment has scared me a little as they have also said I will be having scans every 2-3 weeks as with the last 3 babies being prem they were small.

Hi @Mum2be86 I have tested positive for gbs too , which made me anxious but it is quite common and good think that they have spotted it this time, the preventative antibiotics will help in labour not to pass the infection on.
we since squired done other stickers too and had a couple of growth scans so yes I totally get how anxiety inducing this is. It is good though that you will be kept under close monitoring which will help to keep you and your baby safe.

Has the midwife referred you to a consultant led care / obstetrician? I would get all your questions written down to ask them and hopefully you will get a bit more reassured when you speak with them. For me it was after 12 week scan
