C-section and large baby

I went to see the consultant today who booked me in for a c section at 40 weeks as they where fully booked at 38 and 39 weeks. My baby has jumped massively on the growth chart weighing approximately 7lb 8oz at 35 weeks and is head down already this Is my second baby my first came prematurely at 34 weeks and 6days. The consultant wants me back for a scan in 2 weeks time to see if he is still gaining weight rapidly I’m just wondering what will happen if he is still gaining weight fast? And what is the likelihood of me going into labour before my planned section at 40 weeks? Thanks

@Meg213 hi, not sure about the weight question but my first I had placenta previa so had to have a c section, was booked in for 39 weeks but went into labour at 38 and was given an emergency c section within a couple of hours, they just gave the epidural and I waited until I could go down so I imagine it would be the same if you went into labour before your booked c section 😊
