Fundal measurements - should I be worried?

I’m 32 weeks today and have been for placental scan as it was low lying at 20 weeks - thankfully it’s moved to posterior position so all good on that’s front.

Consultant measured my fundal height while I was there as it hasn’t been done since 28 weeks (when it was 28cm measured by the midwife) and today she has measured me as 30cms which puts me below the 50th centile on the grow chart.

Do I need to be worried? A couple of things making me think it could just be an error, the fact that it has been measured by two different people which I’m sure I’ve read isn’t recommended? Also I have been suffering with morning sickness so haven’t been eating as much?
The consultant also told me the baby’s head is very low and I’ve read that this can lead to a small measurement?

Really looking for some reassurance!

I always thought it could be our by a couple of cm either way anyway ?
But I wouldn't worry as fundal height isn't very accurate at all, for the reasons you've mentioned. Growth scans are more accurate but even they have a margin of error, like 15% I was told.
The fact it was a consultant measuring you aswell and they wasn't worried also is a positive.

Fundal height is notoriously inaccurate. It can change for all sorts of reasons.

I measured small with my first and was sent for extra scans. Baby was average. I'm just tall so there was more space in there for her so she didn't stick out as much.

Thankyou, she’s booking me in for a growth scan so we will see, will try not to be too worried!
