Not sure if this is pg related or not - I'm 35wks pg and I've got this funny feeling in my throat about 1/2 hour after I eat - kinda like I'm absolutely full and its coming up again - but its not nausea. Haven't actually been sick though just like I might be. It happens everytime I eat - even just small bit. Seeing mw on thursday so will ask then but thought I'd consult mumsnet as well

maybe indigestion or the start of?
i had horrendous indigestion from about 36 weeks onwards with ds2.

clayre · 22/01/2008 21:07

i had something like that when i was in late preg with ds, he was back to back so there wasnt much room and my insides were all squashed, when i mentioned it to the midwife she said to eat little and often

Thanks not sure its indigestion cos it goes away after ahile - did wonder if it was something to do with insides being squished - never had this with dd so wasn't sure!

Yeah...I have had it all the way through, feels like a lump sometimes on the left side and sometimes on the right side.

whomovedmychocolate · 22/01/2008 21:28

That'd be your oesophagus. It gets displaced. Lots of people get heartburn, some just feel their oesophagus is in the wrong place.

Tis normal don't worry. It'll go after birth.

I had this. It felt like my stomach was a bit higher in my body. Just cut down on the amount I was eating. Also had to sit quite upright after dinner as it was worse if I slumped or lay down.

its beause ur baby is pushing on ur stomach and causing acid to go up into ur throat try gaviscon advance it really does work too. midwife explained this to me last week as i had same feeling.x

Ah - that makes total sense now I think about it - it does feel like there's acid in my throat. Thanks everyone - mumsnet to the rescue again!
