Talk to me about getting married whilst pregnant

We have been together for years, engaged for a couple and l am pregnant. We are trying to figure out our wedding plans and are intending to marry by the end of the year. The last few years our money has been sucked up by having IVF so we have a tiny tiny budget.

One option we have thought of is registry office for 20 guests and then out for a nice lunch nearby. Trying to think of other budget friendly options. None of the maternity wedding dresses have caught my eye as yet -Tiffany-Rose etc. I’m conscious l obviously won’t be able to drink but we want to be married before the baby comes and l will make sure l have lots of tasty food!

What other suggestion and things to look out for can people think of?

John Lewis had some nice maternity wedding dresses when I was looking at maternity clothes the other day.

What style dresses do you like? Do you want white or something else. I got married in blue

This is nice if you don't want white. You could just coordinate OH tie.

We did this, married when I was 18 weeks

Six months after meeting and nine weeks after the engagement

Second wedding for both of us so I was happy enough in a dress from one of the online places already mentioned.

Registry office, party above a pub, catering from M&S buffet range and pizzas later from pub kitchen.

Still cost approx £3k! But I wouldn't have changed a thing. It was important to me to be married before the baby came, and I know with certainty it wouldn't have happened for a long time after if we'd waited.

@LividLaVidaLoca just go for it l say! What you did sounds up our street -laidback and fun

@PointyMcguire thanks for the tip. I didn’t even realise they did wedding dresses

@WoopsIdiditagain1 l have an open mind. It’s my 2nd wedding and his first. Plus it’s a shotgun wedding! I half jokingly said red. My fiancé has a thing about red so was quite taken by that 🤣!

Asos have some nice maternity dresses

We got married with a 7w old in tow. We buggered off to the Lake District for a "just us" package where the hotel provide the witnesses (if you want). We didn't invite anyone because we didn't want the whole "if we invite x we should invite y, and if we invite a's children we'll need to invite b, c , d and e's too". We had exactly the wedding day we wanted.

We booked our wedding and found out I was pregnant 2 weeks later 😂 We only wanted a small wedding regardless. We are getting married on Saturday when I’ll be 21 weeks at the registry office round the corner, there’ll be 9 including us (and the dog!). We’re having 3 days at a spa hotel and then a party the following Friday evening for around 120 guests with hog roast type buffet and dj. I got a Tiffany rose tea length maternity dress but I’m an awkward shape to start with - fairly short with big boobs 😬 there are loads of other options - Hope and ivy are lovely.

We are marrying in October when I'll be 22 weeks.
I wanted to elope, but we've settled on a micro-ceremony with just our parents present in a local registry office.

I found my dress on ASOS, I wasn't bothered about the white, so actually chose a pale lavender bridesmaid dress from their maternity section.
I'll admit, I definitely took advantage of klarna to order tonnes and send it all back!

Nothing to add except to say Im so happy to hear you’re pregnant - we chatted before on the infertility boards under a different username for me.

I got married at 6 months pregnant after covid cancelled the first two attempts! You don't need a "maternity" dress, mine was my original one just altered and I didn't even look pregnant thanks to a clever seamstress. I loved our wedding day even though I was so sick still I couldn't eat any of the food!
