Contraction or just a bh?

Just had one random bh, I think, tummy went hard and I got a period type pain that wrapped around my hips into my lower back and built in intensity, then tapered off.

Can you get bh in your back too? Felt like a real contraction the way it built up. Was about 20 mins ago and haven't had anymore.

One off more likely to be BH than ctx.
Ctx just don't go away ime.

@Ragged thank you ! Nothing since so must've been a Braxton hicks, it's the first one that built up like that though and was painful, the others have been just uncomfortable because of the tightening

Sounds like a braxton hicks! I had one the other day that lasted a good few minutes and took my breath away. Was like the worse period pain! I never had them with my first so didn’t know what on Earth was happening.

Braxton hicks are contractions. They feel the same. The difference between them is braxton hicks are irregular. Contractions are regular and get closer and painful. So just one contraction is fine…. I get many every day, they started during 25 weeks maybe 3-4 per day but I’m 37 weeks now and I’m getting loads every day. It’s just your body practicing

Ahh, thank you for explaining. Confused me as everything you read says they shouldn't be painful, but this was like a full on early labour contraction ! Never had the building and peaking with a bh either
