Has anyone measured smaller on an early scan and essentially ‘ caught up’ by the 12 week scan?

I had a scan today at 7+4, but measured 6+6.

I tracked ovulation which was day 14. They did say it’s really hard to measure at this stage cause baby is so tiny. But has anyone measured smaller on an early scan and then been put back to the date they expected at the their 12 week scan?

just not sure what to class myself as. Am I 7+4 or 6+6?!

Was there a heartbeat? Did they talk to you about what measuring smaller might mean? It wasn't good news for me when it happened earlier this year. But then you read lots of people saying it happened to them and they did catch up/have a healthy baby. Wishing you luck xx

Sorry you didn’t have good news, I hope you’re ok.

There was a heartbeat flickering away which was lovely, she didn’t seem concerned and said it’s really difficult to measure at this time. But I just wasn’t sure if this meant my dates were likely to change

Yes, IVF pregnancy donned dates exactly. At my 7 week scan I measured almost a week behind (6 days). Pure panic. Booked a private scan for a week later to see progression which I thankfully did see :)

By 12 weeks we'd caught up and by the end we were measuring ahead. It's such small measurements they are working with it's quite easy to make a mistake

My 8 month dd from those scans is asleep next to me right now :)

I measured 10 days(!!!) behind on an early scan, the sonographer said I must have ovulated late which does make sense as this was a surprise pregnancy and my cycles are usually regular enough to avoid getting pregnant.
At my NHS 12 week scan, I was measuring 9 days behind instead of 10, then 7 days behind a week later, so I caught up 3 days but still a week later than initially expected. As long as everything looks healthy and heartbeat is present, I wouldn't worry :)

Almost exactly the same dates as you and ended up measuring 6 days ahead by 12 weeks!

Wait until your next scan to look for progression. You're 8 days behind which is possible to catch up. Try not to worry, the heartbeat is the important bit x

I got an early scan and I was put 4 days behind what I thought I was. I continued to go by my dates and not the scan dates. Went for my 12 week scan the other day and baby had caught up. Midwife also continued to go by dates of period and not the early scan x

At that stage it's so small it's harder to measure. If everything looked ok, heartbeat etc then nothing to worry about. Still early days and you'll get more accurate dates etc further down the line.
